The 2017 draft could be tremendous

Post#1 » by EricAnderson » Wed Jul 22, 2015 2:25 pm

This is as impressive a group as we've seen in years

Giles
Jackson
Smith Jr
Monk
Fox
Tatum
Ball
Simmons
Maker
Ferguson

Guys like Fultz Isaac and Adebayo have exploded recently and are considered elite prospects

Obviously it's early and you never know how guys will translate moving up levels but the potential of this class is amazing

Seems like a great year to tank

Can also add Miles Bridges.

And yes, this draft class could be one for the ages. Not sure if it will rival the 2003 draft, but it will be up there.

A lot of potential guys, not so much skill. Reminds me of the Wiggins draft with lower ceiling. I think Smith Jr is going to be a star.

yes yes it will be.

right now I feel the most confident about Dennis Smith Jr. and Harry Giles.

the rest I've developed some questions about but I think it all irons out going forward.

after watching some of them I can say overreated

Maker, to dumb, no feal for game. Great abilitys and that's it. Monk and Simons also overhyped

Tatum and Giles look like real deals

I know people have some concerns with JJ and they're probably well founded but I'm the most interested in him and maker. Might be a lot of hot air but the potential is there.

i like Lonzo but he plays in a very undisciplined style so I'll need to see him in something more traditional to get a feel for what he can do.

apparently Lonzo lit some of the comp up at the peach jam. dropped a trip dub in a game.

Still need to see him outside of a system though.

Yeah, he is a passing savant with range out to half court but its the small things I need to see in a structured environment before I can get a stylistic comparison.

Not a fan of Tatum at all.
Giles is the real deal.

Dennis smith and Josh Jackson are probably the two highest potential players and I think that they have a good chance of reaching their potential especially Smith. Monk is kind of intriguing. He's arguably the most athletic in the class, but I don't know a good comparison for him

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.
