Ellenson dazzled for Marquette over in Italy. His skill combined with his size and mobility is something special. I don't see how a big this skilled won't shine in the NBA.

Quite impressive, he moves so well that he looks like a shooting guard. His coordination and aggression are awesome, has a good touch and skill on top of that.
How is his defensive though?

Re: Henry Ellenson will be a top 5 pick
He is a two years project in my mind, needs to improve a ton physically, look at his frame, he lacks strength in a bad way to be a post player, he needs to grow in to his body, you can see it when you see the way he runs, he is all legs and arms, he has talent, but he needs to get there physically and then re-state his talent and dont lose his touch and footwork when he gets heavier.
He is going to play a ton of C at Marquette, when Fischer hits the bench, and the way he attacks and moves, is more of a perimeter player.
Weird to see Marquette going with legit bigs after seen them so many years with the positionless bball.
Reminds me a bit of Mirotic, and some Kyle Singler, not the current 3point shooting specialist.

Intersting player for sure, played in my state.. I wasn't really impressed with him in his time with playground elite last season, and he wasn't very efficient so it's good to see him have some big games in college.

I like the little I've seen so far. Looking forward to seeing him this season.

Overseas games carry very little weight with me after years of following them.

Re: Henry Ellenson will be a top 5 pick
As a huge Badger fan, I'm still crying over neither Ellenson nor Diamond Stone, the best big men to come out of the state for a number of years, going to Wisconsin. Ellenson's bro, Wally, transferred from Minnesota to Marquette, so that probably had a lot to do with Ellenson going there. The Badgers thought they had Stone locked up, but he went to Maryland instead.
Ellenson in these clips actually looks better than he did when I saw him in the state tourney. His team would have won his division, but he broke his hand in the semis, and his team lost.
While not a great athlete, few players his size have his combination of mobility, ballhandling, and shooting. I don't want to say the next Dirk, but he does remind me of a young Dirk.

Nowitzki was a much better athelte, Ellenson looks like +30 yo Dirk athletically.

I disagree. Ellenson is not as good as Nowitzki because he lacks in other areas. Athletically he's very close.

Re: Henry Ellenson will be a top 5 pick
Not really seeing top 5 based on that video. He's obviously a prospect because of the size, shooting, and ability to run the floor, but he's about 4-5 inches taller than anyone else out there and he looks like he just got hip replacement surgery. If he were 7'2 like Porzinigis I could see the sky's-the-limit hype but he's 6'10 and, even on his nice lay-ups, he doesn't face any contact/challenges from real players.
The ball handling he shows there is also nice but a) it's sort of rickety and b) is of very limited value at a higher level. You basically always want to give the ball up to your PG (or your star with a handle, like Melo or Harden) since those guys are so so good in the open court. As for the half court, he's not quick at all, and his handle doesn't look good enough to be an asset for creating (at least not now).
