Interesting. Although I don't think DX has ever been onboard with Ben going 1. They put Skal in last year after a few nice days at the summit and only removed him when they would look stupid if they kept him there. It's pretty clear Givony has never liked him. Ingram might end up the best player yet but I think DX has been very quick to jump the gun recently

Givony and Schmitz have hammered Simmons the most of anyone

Ingram with 20 on 7/12 shooting, 9 boards and a couple blocks. Scored in a bunch of different ways. Looked really good today

He's so young to.. this kid is special. He's a better prospect then Wiggins thats for sure. In the new NBA I think he can impact the game more the Simmons with his length. Those blocks today were impressive

Yale is storming back. I want to see Ingram take over the remainder of this second half.

Yupp and I'm loving it. These guards need to take better care of the ball.

Those last two misses at the rim have got to hurt. They would have been huge for Duke

Ingram looks really good right now, he has definitely improved as the season has progressed. He looked good slashing to the basket in round 1. If he adds that to his game, along with his shooting and length then that is a pretty monstrous player. He's gonna provide a lot of versatility to an NBA team. And versatility is the name of the game these days. Ingram is the #1 prospect for me

Haven't watched him in a game, but based on Dawkins highlights, he looks very comfortable putting the ball on the floor, coordinated. I like.

Why isn't he getting as much hype as some other guys in recent drafts who had non-existent ball skills and looked generally uncoordinated? Is it because Ingram isn't the son of an NBA player?

Mostly his frame. He also started the season slow when Simmons started off hot so all the hype went to Simmons. He's a high ceiling low floor type of prospect. Like myself as a Duke fan would draft Justise Winslow over Ingram. I like Ingram but dont love him cause that low floor

Like who?

If you mean Wiggins specifically, the main difference there is probably the eyepopping athleticism and first step. Ingram isn't a bad athlete, but it just appeared more obvious with a guy like Wiggins that he would be in the top percentile of NBA athletes from day 1.

Also Wiggins had a more impressive freshman season than Ingram anyways. He scored better (even went off for 40pts in a game iirc), first team All-Big 12, second team All-American. Ingram really struggled with his shooting consistency and Duke had some poor stretches as a team.

That said, I think people forget how young Ingram is (not even 19yo till the end of this year) which is a big reason why I'm high on his upside. Physical strength and consistency are areas where he needs improvement, but the kid's got nothing but time on his side. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up better all-around than Wiggins, he's got better outside shooting, rebounding and defensive instincts to work with.

Ingram athletically looks like a mix between durant and Ed Davis, should be a star level new age power forward, in a couple years. I'm not sure he fits defensively as a sf.

Wasn't he supposed to be a great athlete? 44 Verticals where rumored.. people said a mix between T-Mac and Durant.

He is a terrific prospect especially beeing this young. I really like him but athletically he has not impressed me at all. He looks almost slow at times.. i am afraid he will have trouble getting to the rim in the NBA. But ok i said the same thing about KD when he was in college..

He has a good 3pt shot and his Mid Range/Post Up game has potential..and he is a decent Rebounder and Passer.. has defensive Potential... But if he cant get to the rim at all in the NBA i dont see Superstar in him tbh.

He reminds me of rookie Giannis athletically. Not necessarily explosive, but he's flexible and coordinated and has those long strides

I want to see how he deals with the bulk of Dillon Brooks.

Has his tournament play given him more grounds for that #1 spot in draft?

Now that Ingram has things figured out, I want to take back what I said about his movements early on in the season. I said that he was better running in a strait line and I didn't think his lateral movement was great, but it was likely due to comfort. I think his movements looks A LOT more fluid now. To the point where I think he could be a better defender than Durant. He's great at clogging lanes and using his size to get steals. He reminds me more of a spider than Durant does.
