Ya Im curious on this as well. Im going to bump
to get his early take on this. Ive always like hearing his perspective on the Euros.
I
f I am not mistaken Sekou Doumbouya should be eligible for 2019, he is likely a PF, extremely physical, he is playing pro already in France, has nice touch and athleticism for his size, a bit of a man child, think of Zion but more polished, bit less athletic.
We talked about
Hoard already and he'd be 2nd in terms of euros after Sekou for me, so nothing new there, I think after that it's wide open, doesnt feel like a class with a ton of talent, outside of the frenchies, but it's still early, there are a couple of balkanic big forwards like always, but I haven't gotten to see them much, hopefully over the summer with the u16, u18 and u19 coming I'll get there (I am planning on attending to two of those and I have a close friend going to Bratislava too).
From the spanish ranks Miguel González is the best wing project we've had since Rudy Fernández probably, if you consider Juancho a pure 4 like I do, he could declare for 2018 but he is taking a long route to develop, playing in div.II in Spain and likely won't get major minutes for any big teams, so he could be declaring for 2019 instead as a 20 yo.
He is a bit on the skinny side (6'8 and 185lbs) but can playmake and has a real poise to his game for his age, he can also shoot, so that's the allure, weird to have fluid athletes that can shoot and pass, his coming out part was the u16 a couple years back;
There are a bunch of videos around, he isnt a major prospect, but he is likely a 1st rounder if he continues to develop physically I'd guess.
Sergi Martínez is the other spanish guy from 99', another one that could declare in 2018 but likely won't, I'd guess, he is a bruiser, strong F, kind of a smallball 4 type, his game always has reminded me of Alessandro Gentile.
From the 00' generation, Usman Garuba is kind of the big prize (probably second in the 2000s generation after Doumbouya), he played as a Center mainly when I saw him with Spain, but he is on the small side there as a 6'8 or 6'9 guy, he is an unreal athlete for his age, with a big frame, long arms, really smooth athlete too, he can pass and I think the intelligence is there but lacks skill to even play the 4 from what I saw (a year ago or so) hopefully he has developed nicely and can be your prototypical modern 4 eventually.
There are others (Parra mainly) but I haven't watched enough.
