Splitter coming into form is great... but it'd be good to have another big with some size of some sort other than Splitter/Duncan...

The guy I want is Diaw.

Currently, our big guys provide us with different things. For example, Splitter with his size and low post scoring. He's basically our Tim Duncan clone which is why they don't really play well together. Blair with his energy and offensive rebounding. IMO, Turiaf will be his clone. So if we get Turiaf, we either play him or Blair, but likely not both because they bring almost the same thing to the table. And Diaw is like a Bonner clone in that he stretches the floor better but while Diaw is the better passer and individual defender, Bonner probably tries harder when he's on the floor and is a better 3 point shooter.

I think of our current bigs, Bonner is the weakest. Diaw is an upgrade to Bonner.

As far as those players getting us any closer to a title, ofcourse not. I don't think a 10-15 minutes backup is going to have that kind of difference to a team, but they add depth and if that player is better than what we currently have, that alone should add atleast a few 0.1% of our title chances.

I like Diaw and Fisher for their veteran experience. To be honest, there will be games when our stars don't show up and somebody has to step up off the bench. I'm more confident on getting production from guys that don't make mistakes on the floor as opposed to say.. James Anderson, Cory Joseph, or even Blair who doesn't affect the game unless he's getting his offensive rebounds, or Bonner who has yet to show up in the playoffs. I like Derek Fisher on this team even if he only plays sometimes like Steve Kerr did for us. But there's a glaring hole at backup PG where Gary Neal has been fine for us but obviously lacks the experience at that position. Bunch of times, I just wish Manu would play backup PG instead but that takes away his aggresiveness because he's always looking to set up people instead of doing what he does best; attack the basket. Neal is best suited as a SG.

Anybody wants to represent the Spurs in a RealGM User Mock Draft? It includes the 2nd round, and trades are welcome.

I'm not the topic starter, just trying to help making all teams represented.

When LeBron was dancing on the sidelines with his headband off in the closing seconds of Game 5, did anyone else think he looked a lot like David Robinson???

I can't define myself surprised but at the same time I feel kind of amazed: the former because the expectations were too high (it seems that today everything must be done immediately otherwise you are sort of incompetent, less space to growing) on the team and on the playbook players had to use, this last making me feel the latter, for everyone sayd the princeton offense is difficoult to actually learn in the in-game situation as you have to read properly every circumstance; new team, new players with roles that are differents to what they were familiar with, so i think it all demanded time to grow together as a team through losses and adjustments through the season itself, not through years. Mike Brown should have had a second chance after this disastrous start was put clearly in front of his eyes, but I guess people are right when they say he lacks control of the whole situation when coaching great players. he should have kicked his players' asses because of no defense if that has always been considered his strength.
