I was always under the assumption that he would retire from coaching but remain with the team in some capacity.

I wonder if Vaughn will return next season. But for whatever reason, most of our assistants who left don't ever come back. I think only PJ Carlesimo did. Every one else left and got a coaching job and then fired and never comes back.

Probably afraid to face Pop for their bad coaching I guess.
