Ok, this thread is based on some assumptions:
1) TP isn't coming back enough this upcoming season to take back the starting point spot (and he will be a FA in 2018).
2) Murray is not assessed as good enough to take the reigns (as starting PG).
3) Mills is a) not good enough to be starting PG, and b) is getting more than we are willing to pay for him this offseason.
4) We cannot entice one of the major FA PG's (Curry, CP3, Hill, Lowry ), likely due to not enough cap space available.
If you don't like those assumptions, start your own thread...
What is your suggestion for a PG target, either by trade, or by FA (given assumption 4 above).
I would explore a trade for Ricky Rubio. IMO He's quite good value for his 2yrs/~$28 Million remaining. He should be available (there have been rumours of him being shopped for the last 18 months - particularly for Derrick Rose...)

Re: Alternate Starting PG options
Rubio = YUCK
We need a guard who doesn't require handling the ball constantly (like Rubio does) and who can score and create his own shot when he does have the ball (like Parker used to). Leonard handles the ball mostly in our offense so we don't need a pass-first traditional point guard.

Re: Alternate Starting PG options
the problem with the backups is bringing the ball upcourt into halfcourt...
in the halfcourt there are guys who have no problem handling the ball, the spurs dont usually execute plays no more due to kawhi iso ball and the bigs dont attract double teams to spread the floor...
just need a guy who can actually handle the ball not turning it over on stupid passes or dribbling into the defense causing turnovers...
