I disagree. First it's just 2 years, secondly 8.4 mil is not that bad. Same money as Jennings, Mayo, Teague got this summer. Lowry likely takes 8 mil to resign. Is Lin really worse than Lowry, Jennings and Teague?

As a player he may have been worth 5-6 last year. But add in youth and potential to improve and paying 8 for Lin is not a killer, especially if we expect to tank

He's definitely worse than Teague

Yeah, Lin would be hated just like Calderon....think about it....he is basically Gay and Calderon put together. That might equate to more hate than Bargnani got.

Houston might be benching him so struggling teams are willing to trade for him so they can get a salary dump for next year.

This is a common misconception. The contract is spread out for 8.3 mil each year of his contract. It only would have been 5/5/15 if NY matched.

The cap hit is 8.3 annually, but Lin is getting 5/5/15.

Yup he is the answer to our problems alright ..without his 30 plus points tonight, we couldn't have tanked properly.

lin isn't a d-leaguer but he isn't a starter either. very good sixth man player/backup pg for most teams though. if he can put up 14 and 5 off the bench, he'll be a sixth man of the year candidate.
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

C'mon he's a starter, there are pg's like Felton starting in this league. The only reason he isn't starting on the rockets is because he's redundant to Harden.

Nope.

/thread

EDIT: All you Lin fans need to get over the fact that he's overrated and just because he had a good performance against a brutal Raptors team doesn't mean he's the answer.

heck no. We really need to draft Marcus Smart. I think he's the type of player that can lead this team.

last year was basically his first full year in the league coming off of a leg injury. he consistently gets to the basket and can find the open man. he's a very good pg.

I can't get over how many people don't read posts and just respond. You're talking about "the answer" when you don't even know what the question is.

The only reason he plays good at times is cause of the stars on his team.
Everytime he drives in the paint, he prays to god there's someone who can bail him out.
No thanks. Don't want an overpaid scrub.

If Lin joins the Raptors tomorrow, he'll easily be the smartest player on the roster. He will also hurt the tank even more so.

Lin has one of the quickest first-step in the game, he can run the pick and roll, and he understands how to run an offense. He has also shown improvement in reducing turnovers and his jumper has noticeably improved. Even better, the Rockets are a dysfunctional team and there are whispers that Lin might want out.
