You need to have an american IP address for it to work. You can get an american IP address by using a VPN connection to a server in the states. Just google "free VPN's" or even better, pay $2 - $20 a month and pay for a reliable, high speen, VPN connection. Google "best VPN's", "top VPNs" and pick one you like.

I was using a new LP account that I setup a month ago with a canadian credit card and mailing address. I simply entered my login details on the american LP and it signed me in no problem.

This is what I've done (using Hotspot shield) and it's working just fine, Raptors games and all.

I'm happy to give the NBA my money... just wish there was an easier method to watch these games.

I'm on a mac and hotspur shield stops everything from working, I can't use the web or even get league pass to load. I'm willing to pay 100$ for the service but what's the point if I can't watch my fav team play...

Any way around this without an American ip?

If anyone lives in the states and wants to get it holler,

I'm torn about what I want to do. International will not allow connections from US VPN, so that means Raptor games will be blacked out.

On the other hand, the quality of International is light years beyond the American version.

Sigh.

So for the international league pass they say they will block games that are in canada and spain. I guess this means games that are on tsn2 and nbatv and raptors tv (as well as tsn, sportsnet, therscore). But if a game is shown in Spain will it also be blacked out for us? This leads to the question; how many games are televised in Spain?

But the American league pass has **** quality. After trying the international one,I can't imaging switching back lol.

The american league pass is like the one last year. It works using the hotshield method (connect) and once the game starts you can disconnect to get full speed of your internet connection.

However after seeing the international one, it is difficult to go back to the regular one. The international is MUCH MUCH better quality. Makes no sense how the american one is sub par quality. International is truly HD where as american league pass is tv quality.

Downside to international method is that there is no way around the blackouts. And there are lots lots blackout games. Basically no raptor games or any game broadcasted on canadian tv. On average day/night there is two basketball games broad casted so there are lots of blackout games on top of the raptor games.

OK so here's how I understand the black out issue:

American League pass:
- not so great quality
- can watch Raptor games if sign up with an American email or use a US proxy(e.g. Hotspotsheild)
- games that are on US national TV will be blacked out.

Canadian(International) League pass:
- GREAT quality
- Raps games are blacked out with no way around it*
*unless you use an non US/Canadian proxy, which is hard to find.

Is this correct?
Also, if we sign up for the American one, do we automatically get the Canadian league pass?

So, basically you have a choice: American site with lower quality Raptor games or International site with high quality, but zero Raptor content.

I'd say the choice is clear.

It's not so clear. I like watching a lot of NBA teams if I get the chance, and the International one is badass. Not only is the quality great, but you can full screen it (instead of having that horrendous scoreboard at the top.

Truly excellent/I hope the American version switches over.

Question to those who've already done it: I signed up to the US version during the preview period, but now want to sign up for good. Can I use a Canadian credit card?

Yes. They don't give a ****. All that matters is the IP when you connect.

Correct. Except for the part about getting both, and that's the kicker.

You can only sign up/sign in to the American one now if you sign in from an American IP. If you have an International IP, it forwards you to ILP. So you need to choose which you want. I'm pretty torn myself.

Are you sure? Some Italian fans on this forum say that they watch Raptor games in Italy.

I think you can watch Raptors games if you have an international IP on International League Pass

Sorry I forgot to mention this. Most of the Blackouts only apply to Canadians in Canada (for Raptor games). If you are International, you can watch the Raptors no problem, and you get the best of both worlds. There are international VPN's, but tough to get the bandwidth required over one of those for the good quality feeds.

So all I have to do is use hotspotshield or w/e and get a American IP and then purchase it using my Canadian credit card lol?

But they'll know, my billing address is Canadian. This is weird.
