Pretty sure Masai was able to get a 1st rounder (Knicks) but it was only in the 2024 draft and he didn't want anymore picks in this draft. We also know hes a hard ass for making trades as has been evident with Lowry, Fred, OG, Siakam, etc.

He can definitely revisit this in the offseason and I would bet a lot of money that's exactly what we'll do. There's also a chance that both sides agree to a long term deal even though I think that's doubtful.

Well, a lot of teams aren't able to offer future picks and the Knicks have already stated they're saving all their future picks for a potential superstar. After this draft or the 2025 trade deadline, the 2025 1st rounder is much easier to get.

Well yeah a lot of teams aren't able to offer the picks, which means if we pick up his option, we risk keeping him for a trade that will never exist. The real question is, how many teams would be willing to give up a 25 pick once eligible, that draft is expected to be significantly better than this years, so inherently they have more value.

The FO has flubbed way too many trades lately for me to be willing to trust them to take another stab at this.
