I wonder if us keeping #6 sways things.

Keep 6....then take a chance on him with the Indy pick. Then move the Detroit pick or draft someone you can stash.

But if you drop out of the top 6, go with a safer pick with Indy pick, then with Detroit pick take a boom/bust selection....if that even exists in that range...lol. wait and see if Edey falls.

We'd probably have to take him with the Pacers pick if we want him. I can't see him lasting until the 2nd round, someone will grab him in the late teens, 20s.

This team needs perimeter shooting, scoring and playmaking. We are good at Centre for the first time in a long time. Pass.

Honestly having Yak and Kelly makes bringing in Zach a much easier proposition. Zero immediate pressure and quality vets at his position to learn from. He'd project to hitting his stride as their contracts were coming to an end.

The more Canadians the better.

I assume his FIBA experience last summer helped him. I hope being a draft pick won't prevent him going to the Olympics

Givony has Edey going 14 in his latest mock.

With how bad this draft is, I think teams will settle for players where you know what you are getting versus a bunch of bruno caboclo's

Edey will be unplayable in the NBA. He'll be another Boban, no one should be taking him before the 50s

Will definitely be gone by 32. If you dont think there is any significant upside in any of the players and he is available at Pacers pick, I suppose you could take him. The issue is this team lacks "talent" at least to be a competitor, so you probably want to swing for the fences if you think there is a guy with higher upside available. a 3rd center probably wont move the needle, but could end up being a rotation piece in a few years. I also dont think he will be as "dominant" in the NBA as he facing mini guys in college while most NBA teams have a 7 footer or two.

He looks really slow and uncoordinated. I wouldn’t take him in the first as he looks like an end of the bench spot C to me. But what do I know.

Sean May dominated NCAA, won the championship, ended up going 13th. Went on to have a storied 4 year career, 119 games.
Some guys are just better in college due to the weak competition. Could you imagine Edey trying to provide help on Ja Morant?

you're right.

Edey is 7'4" and 300lbs and will bust.

Let's draft a guy like Tristan Da Silva over him. A guy who can't play a lick of defense and will never play more than a handful of games in the NBA

Seems almost inconceivable that he would fall to 32 (I know he's often mocked there or lower). I get all of the question marks, but the production is just so ridiculous that someone will take a chance. If he's there, then it's worth a shot.

I'm not so sure about taking him with the Indy pick though.

He's going to be a bust. Hopefully someone reaches for him so another prospect falls. I would have Missi, Ivisic, and several others way before him. We don't need a prospect as 'ready' as Edey, we need someone who can grow to be a top player from this draft in the next few years.

I think he looks like prime shaq against these college guys but I think if he faces Donovan Clingan soon he will get exposed.
I mean, would we be having this conversation if he wasn’t Canadian?

Yeah? We are discussing him being selected in the second round and he's currently dominating college hoops. Lots of people are talking about him. This isn't Juan Mendez.

If you haven't had a chance to watch him this year, I'd really encourage it. His game is a lot more fluid than in past years.

I get why people make the Boban comparison but I do think there are some more varied dimensions to his game. I don't know if he'd be worth a pick (I think workouts will count for a lot for him) but I wouldn't write him off.
