I see the same career trajectory for Bruno. Starting at the SF initially, but then later blossoming as a 4 man when he adds bulk. There he can take advantage of his speed and take guys off the dribble if they guard the 3 pt shot too closely.

Rashard Lewis was a pretty proficient post-player in Seattle, though. He had a pretty smooth game down low; he never bullied people, even when he played the 3, but he was fluid and used his height pretty well. Bruno has a long, long ways to go before he gets there, especially since right now his offence is basically "stand around the perimeter and wait for the ball."

Met Bruno, bebe and DeAndre. Bruno and DeAndre have insanely athletic frames. Super wide shoulders and long arms. Bebe is tall and skinny but looks fairly strong. All of them had great personalities. Bebe is taking the responsibility of being a role model for Bruno VERY seriously. Didn't even want to take a pic of us in front of a club, we had to angle it so the background was just the street. Super excited for these guys before I met em, and after I did, I'm 100% certain Bruno is gonna be a star. Heads in the right place and definitely has all the physical tools.

Yup, even a rookie Andrea Bargnani, completely unprepared for the rigours of the NBA, was able to contribute as a rookie through the virtue of having some size and being able to shoot the rock with confidence. Historically, though less so these days I suppose, many (NBA) players had to continue training at it for years after entering the league to reach a high level of confidence shooting the 3, a level that, in my opinion, Bruno has demonstrated quite clearly.

Casey makes the Rashard Lewis comparison and it is the size/shooting confidence that makes it ring true.

Still can't believe we got a prospect with this much upside at 20. Bruno has made me forget all about Kyle Anderson and Damien Inglis. They're still worth keeping tabs on but the holes in their prospective games - defense for Anderson; shooting for Inglis; elite athleticism and off-ball ability for both - aren't really there in Bruno's.

I wanted a freak 3 with shooting ability and defensive potential and all-round game, and Masai seems to have found me one. F--- yeah.

One more thing to add, Bruno seems like he's only just learning how to use that massive length of his, which has to be reasonably newfound, but he's already pretty capable of being impactful with it. This speaks volumes to his true potential as a player.

He took it to the hole a few times and even has a pull-up 10 footer, which is like a PG's floater. Looks like Durant's shot. :D

He has great coordination and body control for a person with limbs like he has. In some of those highlights he takes 2 steps and extends the ball away from the defender, and they just have no chance to stop his shot.

Yup, I see more potential in Bruno's slashing game than I ever saw in Rashard's, who was always pretty awkward getting to that first step of his.

In the post, Shard was solid but usually went to his little fadeaway. We didn't have Bruno showing much down there but I'd wager he'll have some effective hook shots in short order. We have some reporting from Brazil that he was almost too prone to take it too the post so any reticence in summer league figures to be him following the coach's marching orders.

Odd, that seems to belie the reporting from CBS a few weeks ago that he loves to chuck 3s
In his first game, against top-five-ranked junior college Vincennes University, the 6-foot-9 forward with an almost 7-7 wingspan stayed on the perimeter. He missed three-pointer after three-pointer. Franco told Caboclo he had to be aggressive and had to rebound, and the scoring would come. He was temporarily banned from shooting threes. The strategy worked, then he started taking them again.

You're trolling and you know it. You've already been warned once in this thread.

No I'm not actually, I am allowed to be excited about our prospect thank you very much.

Weren't you the guy calling him a bust in the gamethread just a week ago?

You can tell that he prefers to take 3s, but we also saw him become more aggressive taking guys off the dribble and posting up as the SL went on. He's been playing basketball for 5 years. In high school Joakim Noah used to just hang around the perimeter taking jump shots. It's not difficult for players to change their mentality at a young age.

He was crying because he heard a rumor that he was being traded to the Knicks.

At 18 years old I like what I've seen from the kid. He's a little bit trigger happy with the three ball though. I think he'll realize that he can score in a variety of ways with that long body once he gets a little bit more experienced.
