league’s current contracts with ABC/ESPN and TNT were worth $7.4 billion.

Those contracts are set to expire after the 2015-16 season and the next round of deals are expected to be even more lucrative.

I keep asking myself the same question... should I give up watching the one sport I love because it is poorly officiated. Not even talking about raptors here, though it stings more when it is a raps game.

I really like how ESPN has Steve Javie to break down controversial plays and explain what the refs are looking at and how they base their decision. Would be nice to have him explain some of the calls we've had against us, especially last game.

Man I can totally relate to this. When officiating is so bad you wonder why you bother watching.

We will always get screwed by a few calls but if we miss clutch FTs it doesn't matter /dead

ESPN: Joe Johnson "I NEVER get calls"

Post#585 » by jalenrose#5 » Fri May 2, 2014 4:58 pm

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- A day after his coach went to bat for him, Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson says he agrees with Jason Kidd that he does not get enough calls.

Johnson, though, hasn't complained about it all season. And he won't be complaining on Friday night, despite the fact that his team faces elimination in Game 6 of its first-round Eastern Conference playoff series against the Toronto Raptors.

"I never get calls, man," Johnson said before Friday's morning shootaround. "It doesn't bother me, though. I just try to play through it. At the end of the day, playing to the refs is not gonna make it any easier."

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_ ... ough-calls

I honestly don't understand the whining going on with this team.

The Nets have easily had the refs on their side the ENTIRE series. Toronto literally has to flop or take charges to get any sort of call from the refs. The Raptors complained about the refs far less when they lost compared to this VETERAN group.

The Nets purposely lost in the final week to matchup against the Raptors...you get what you ask for I guess.

The guy's offensive arsenal consists of jap step jumpers and soft floaters in the lane.

I for one am shocked he doesn't get more calls.

Sadly I worry that this complaining will actually benefit them with the refs tonight.

LOL THE IRONY!!!!!

amazing, because none of the raptors players have complained... even though we've consistently been shafted by calls over the years... in fact we still have been this series... and people are writing articles basically telling us to stfu... and now, here you have nets players/coaches on two separate occasions, bringing up the lack of calls in their favour... LMFAO... can someone please fine these whiny ass **** already?

JJ is a big guy and he just pushes guys like Demar around, maybe that's why he "never' gets calls.

Like I said...tell that to DeMar DeRozan...who leads the league in FTM/FTA in the playoffs...but should be leading it by a landslide. Can't really say he's never fouled when he drives to the hoop.

Johnson on the other hand takes soft hook shots in the lane to avoid contact, long jab step jumpers..and the ODD post-up in which he seems to get to the line with ease.

Note to Johnson..post up some more..maybe you'll get the calls.

Lol the nets fans were laughing at how the Raptors are whining for calls. but now look at who's complaining. First Kidd, now JJ.

Absolutely. Kidd complaining, players complaining... The raptors are in for a long night. I expect a landslide in call favor.

Already, they have been calling ticky tack fouls on Val and Amir. I can't imagine what's gonna happen tonight.

Whining about calls shows Joe Johnson doesn't know anything about playoff basketball. - Steve Kerr

The Raps led the league in fouls this season anyway. They won 48 games being jobbed on calls all year. There will be minimal impact of refs on the result of this game--same as it has been every game this series.

Send Psycho T to give him 6 hard fouls, then he can stop complaining about lack of calls.
