Basically it BC's hand will be more evident once the draft rolls around. We are pretty much garanteed to re-sign Johnson so if a Bynum deal is really already agreed upon then BC will most likely pick a wing/guard and not another young big. I can only imagine but the following lineup would be a great young core moving forward:

1. Bosh + JC for Bynum + Vujacic +LA 1st 2011 (pick replaces our pick that we likely loose to MIA next year)
2. @13 Raps draft Paul George

Bynum
Bargs, Johnson
Turk (not going anywhere) +Paul George
Derozan +Weems
???

still have Jack, Evans(exp), Banks(exp) & Bellini to acquire other pieces moving forward ...

Wouldn't surprise me if we have to give up Jack in this deal btw. He'd be a PERFECT Derek Fisher replacement in LA and of course he's buds with Bosh. Jack/Kobe/Artest/Bosh/Gasol 6th: Odom would be monstrous

I don't understand how it can be either Bynum or Lee ..... these 2 players are such polar opposite frontcourt players. I mean unless there is no other young center other than Bynum that is available

But even still - If Bynum is available you can't tell me Lee is the best alternative to him?

Anyway if we get Bynum I'll be pretty happy with the return.

If we get Lee I'm going to be depressed.

Definitely...I was just pointing out that laughing at a group of Battier, Wright, Wells, Miller, Posey, et al is ignoring the fact that, in many ways, they brought more to that team than many 'name' players.

I'm not denying they played D but you're acting like they were world beaters at their position. They were just ROLE PLAYERS.

Are you high?

Artest has a horrible contract? He's making the friggin' MLE.

He extended Gasol for no reason? Doesn't making two finals in two years with him on the team warrant that?

I agree Walton was a bad deal, and possibly Vujacic (even though Sasha in that contract year was clearly worth that).

Nope, not high. Artest for the MLE is fine. For 5 years when he generally wears out his welcome after 2 is probably a generous deal.

He didn't have to extend Gasol at the time, for that much money either. The question is whether the guy with the highest payroll in the league is the type to overspend, and I think he is. It's not a criticism, it's his money and if it makes him happy than it's well worth it.

All of the players on our team save for Bosh are role-players, as well. The problem is that many of them perform the same role.

How can the Lakers make deals if they are still in the playoffs? Isn't this against the rules? I say BS or else I saw other teams should cry foul and have any such deal voided and the Lakers fined!!! :D

When so many teams have so much riding this offseason, I don't think they will let stuff like this go down.

IF the deal evolves into us taking back Walton and us sending out Jack then, well, I don't like it as much. :-?

I'am a huge fan of this deal, i have been now for about a year. my only concern is Bynum's knees. For insurance, we may have to draft a big that is avaliable..if we could snag monroe or davis, someone like that.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Bosh talk about how he loves being the main guy?

In LA, you've got Kobe. And then Gasol. He'd be close to the third guy on the Lakers. Kobe loves to take over games and has his times in the season where he loves to chuck it up. Bosh would be battling for touches constantly with Gasol.

If this really has some truth in it, I like our future, very much. Maybe we can ship Jose too, for farmar.

He said he is ok with having a role like Gasol's. He will most likely take that role if he goes to LA. Besides, kobe is almost done being the main guy anyways, after like 3-4 more years.
