Dont know if this is still legit (Posted April 7th/ 2010)
It was posted on a blog with the original source which is an Israeli site i believe

Toronto Raptors are reported by the Israeli media to be interested in the American center D'Or Fischer, and in the Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme, both from Maccabi Tel Aviv. In the last years, the Raptors have also signed two other players from the Israeli team, Maceo Baston and Anthony Parker. Lasme played briefly for the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat in the 2007-08 season before moving to Partizan, in Serbia, and was signed by Maccabi last summer. Fischer played in college for the Northwestern State University and for West Virginia, and is currently in his second season in the Maccabi roster.

Get 'er done BC!!!! LOL jk...my rule of thumb is that we shouldn't go after mediocre overseas players. The NBA is the biggest stage in the world when it comes to basketball so I'm not a fan of all these Euro or Israeli league players coming over unless they've proven themselves to be of an nba caliber. Anthony Parker was good but you can see with a guy like Calderon that the ceiling is not very high for these players and they remain stagnant in their skill level or even regress to the point that we don't want them anymore.

Why? Seeing as you're such an expert basketball man who is respected in scouting circles throughout the NBA, and international basketball community.

Don't see anything special in Lasme, he brings nothing over Joey Dorsey. D'Or Fischer might be interesting. His predraft measurements from back in 2004-2005 were 6'10.5" in shoes, 242lbs., 7'6" wingspan, 9'2.5" standing reach, 30.5" vert. I wouldn't mind bringing him for like a vet min salary as an end-of bench type.

It's because the Dumb Cluck Faction of RealGM doesn't believe in the need to sign value-priced end of bench players with more game than Patrick O'Bryant. They think that we should avoid anything unconventional and sign talentless crap that has warmed an NBA bench. That being said, Fischer, an American who played college ball at Northwestern, is intriguing to me in a 10th man kind of way.

The thing is POB has more game then both these guys and both Fischer and Lasme would likely cost more to bring here than to re-sign O'Bryant. anyways, regardless all 3 players are a waste of an NBA roster spot IMO.

How in the world does POB have more game than these guys? He's been a major letdown his entire professional career. Three teams gave up on him.

I don't think Patty is that bad?

I mean he was a 9th overall pick and he has showed me something, something from time to time.

You think he is that bad?

Yet again you haven't said why.

I'm starting to think you have never seen either player play and are just making a stand for no reason with nothing to back it up.
