Bargs on Bosh: "We never won anything with him"

“Chris is a great player, but we never won anything with him. I respect Chris a lot and I learned many things from him, but it’s not like we were coming from a championship run, or we were first in the Eastern Conference before he left. It’s not like Cleveland when they lost LeBron. They were the best team in the NBA and we didn’t even make the playoffs. We still need a winning mentality, and it’s not like we had one when Chris was here and now we have to rebuild. We never had it, and we have to get a winning mentality before we can hope to be a good team. I’m not saying Chris was bad. He was an All-Star and a great player, but it’s not like we were a great team and now we’re not any more.”

There's a lot more than that in the article, and I don't really think the quote was as much about Bosh, as it was the team as whole "rebuilding" in the wake of Bosh. Barg's is like, well, even when Bosh was here we weren't a good team, so we're still trying to become that, that's how I took it.

definitely. everyone should read the whole thing. i posted this quote b/c this is an example of bargs actually communicating like the leader of the team. him openly talking about "culture" and the environment while also talking about bosh is pretty eye opening regarding his stature.

That brought me a smile. Everyone knows thats the case but its good to hear from someone whose words actually matter more than any of us. I am ever so thankful we didn't sign Bosh to the max. He is never gonna be anywhere near a max player, not as a centrepiece at least. Hopefully we have 3 of them coming next year, JV+Our 1st Round Pick + Westbrook or Deron! Hey I am allowed to dream, aren't I?
