So depressing that we're at the cap.

We have the new "Room level exception", as it is called, and worth about $2.5 million, so it might this that he will get.

I was not sold on Gray at all to being last season but he turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Capable backup for Val.

He made $2.5 million last season and I'm guessing he'll get about the same plus a 5% increase for the second year.

Oh okay, thanks. Wasn't aware he had that kind of cap hit in the previous season. So what does everyone thing is reasonable then? He definitely improved upon what was expected of him. I guess $3-4 is a reasonable expectation ? Considering what some C's are getting this offseason (Asik, Hibbert) that's what I hope.

I'm guessing it will be at least $3M/yr, so $6-7M for the 2 years.

You can never have too many unathletic seven-footers.

Not a bad stop-gap at all.

He rebounds, scores a little, and blocks the paint. Good for 2-3 mil a year.

Wow, if Val stinks up the joint next year, we'll have the worse C's in the game by a mile!(especially if our fill in centre Amir is packaged in a deal) I was hoping we would go in a different direction! Our capspace hasn't been used the greatest this off season.

He's a big body that knows his role. He is keeping Vals seat warm for 2 years which should ease some of the pressure on match up problems for Val.

Im good with the signing.

I'm happy with the signing, was hoping to see him back. I still think Magloire could make the roster too, or at the very least be involved in the staff in some way (for Val's development).

A definite if under appreciated part of Gray's game is setting hard screens. As we diversify offensively, that's going to be more important this year. Running into a Gray screen is pretty much like smacking into the base of Everest.

I was kinda hoping we'd bring in a vet big to mentor Val but at the same time, Gray knows and understands his role here. Decent signing.

Really enjoy this signing.

He's come about leaps and bounds since entering the league with chicago.

He worked his ass OFF this summer and dropped what...30lbs? He's a solid backup centre.

I really hope we get Big Cat to sign, and we'll have a positive/tough environment for JoVa to grow in his rookie year.

Magloire replaces Solomon seat on the bench....

Val/Gray/Magloire

Next up Davis or Johnson might be traded this season...

Great to see him back. He is a solid centre. Good rebounder, has better hands than you'd expect, and sets bone crushing screens.
