I hate Aaron Gray. Would've rather explored options for trading one of our many wings and/or pf's or even better; Calderon for a center, rather than blowing what little cap space we have left on another mediocre role player.

Good to hear. Played a solid role for us last year.

Cap space can easily be cleared. All it takes is Calderon expiring/trading one of Johnson or even Bargnani (if it comes to it)

Yeah because we're totally in the market for Rudy Gay and Andre Igoudala right now... considering you know... zero assets, no capspace and Calderon/Davis (which neither team has need of)! Great!

It better be a home run trade to send off Jose at this stage considering the cap implications.

Options at 5 :

Gray - Valanciunas - Amir

Options at 4 :

Bargnani - Ed Davis - Amir - Acy - Kleiza

One has got to go in a trade right?

Should have made a bid on Elton Brand first.

Good signing. Hopefully we didn't overpay to keep Gray.

I still think we're going to see a trade soon for a starting small forward. Not sure why so many have got it into their head that BC is done.

Seems the only thing worse than starting next season with Landry Fields at SF is starting the year without Landry Fields at SF.

Definitely. I expect James Johnson, Amir Johnson or Ed Davis to be involved in whatever other trades we make. We have a glut of forwards on this team.

I hope it's a reasonable contract considering what we just gave Fields. If it's a 2 year, $1 mill per season type contract then this is a great signing.

I was not sold on Gray at all to being last season but he turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Capable backup for Val.

So depressing that we're at the cap.

We have the new "Room level exception", as it is called, and worth about $2.5 million, so it might this that he will get.

He made $2.5 million last season and I'm guessing he'll get about the same plus a 5% increase for the second year.

Raps definitely needed an experienced C of some kind. But now with the glut of big men and forwards they really need to do something. Why pay players rotation-level money if they are going to be 3rd on the depth chart?

He made $2.5M last year so I doubt it will be less than that. I also think he might be the starter at the beginning of the year until Jonas proves that he can be effective and stay on the court.

Good move, he played pretty well for us. He'd start to give Jonas time to adjust to the NBA game.
