We're at the cap already!!???!?!??!!

You've gotta think BC is regretting that Landry Fields offer even though he won't come out and say it.

Gray is an excellent piece and should help solidify the Raptors culture of winning and hard work.

Bunch of drama queens. We need Gray to matchup and provide some resistance to the bigger 5's in the league. Knows his role, sets good screens, boxes out well, gets to the right spots defensively and a legit 7fter. Even if he were to cost up to $5 mil a year it's good value on a short contract.

I like the signing.

It also shows how out of touch Doug Smith has become. A few days ago on his chat he was asked what the odds were that Gray resigns with Toronto.

Doug's reply was 'SLIM' . So of course the Raps sign Gray 3 days later.

Ryan Wolstat ‏@WolstatSun
Would expect Aaron Gray received the new "room exception" to re-sign with the Raptors. That's what I had been told he likely would get.

Tim Chisholm ‏@timpchisholm
Aaron Gray returning to TOR was a no brainer. He was a great pickup last year, his reb rate is ridiculous & perfect starter w JV behind him.

Tim Chisholm ‏@timpchisholm
No. JV is raw, prob won’t start all year w/o injuries. @ReeZen: @timpchisholm for the first 15+ games. no?

magloire as well, and he incorporates elbows into his screenage

we have some nastiness on this team for the first time in ages. Magloire was even starting fights from the bench I've never seen a raptor do that. And gray is kind of a scary dude, I like this signing especially if it lets Amir go back to 4 and slim down again and get his footspeed back

BC still catering to Bargnani's needs.

Bargs with his mobility, base, and size is an ideal centre (in today's NBA)... but unfortunately he doesn't rebound and play help D. So... as a result, we settle for this.
Prediction
Spurs in 7. Parker MVP. Lebron 6-17fg, 18pt, 8reb, 5 asst in game 7 LOSS.

Gray is perfect for starting this year, playing 20 minutes a game with Val getting the rest.

Then during the 2nd year, he'll backup and eat up about 15 minutes a game. Then the team can go from there.

Good signing

I'm happy with it. Hope we didn't overpay though. In theory he is the backup next year.

Good signing.

If only we can get rid of Jose for a SF. This offseason will be complete. Praying Jose is gone soon

Good, was afraid he wasn't coming back. I'm ok as him as the starter as Val adjusts.
