Jonas Valanciunas Summer Discussion II

Post#1 » by billyc » Sun Jul 8, 2012 2:13 am

Continuation of viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1182958

Name Pos Min 2FG 3FG FT Off Def RB Ast To Stl Blk Pf Pts

J. Valanciunas C 26:08 6/9 0/0 5/6 2 5 7 1 3 1 1 5 17
A. Horford C 23:09 4/13 0/1 4/6 2 2 4 3 1 2 0 3 12

He played mostly against A. Horford. Only problem with Val. is he fouls too much. But I think so have something special with him. Give him 2-3 years in the NBA he will become a valuable player.

So basically he massively outplayed Al Horford.

He rolls HARD to the basket every single time - dude knows how to play in the P'n'R. Nash really would've had fun finding him for easy assists. I think Lowry will as well.

Has good size. Can't wait until he starts to bulk up in a few years.

I watched some of Val at last year's U20 tournament (or at least I think it was that one) and he tore it up. He was so much better than the big men of his age, it wasn't even funny. I really think he'll be the real deal. Obviously, it'll take some time, but I'm really excited about him joining us this upcoming season.

His other games were terrible. Good to see that he stepped up playing big minutes for Lithuania.

Yeah I don't see his strength being a huge obstacle during his rookie year. Obviously he'll struggle against Dwight and Bynum, but he has a really solid base already and is noticeably bigger than he was last summer.

He's pretty far along for a big considering he just turned 20.

He picked up a couple fouls late when he was really gassed, was all over the court and played the majority of the second half.

He didn't have a single foul in the 1st quarter while guarding Horford for much of the time he was on.

I think he does much better when he's starting. It's gets him in the game, and he's able to feed off that confidence he obtains early in the game. When he comes off the bench it looks like he's fighting to make a difference, in fear that if he doesn't he'll be back on the bench.

That's just my opinion, though.

Incorrect. There will be a draw that decide where qualified teams go.

Kleiza's name is blowing up on twitter (do twitter search). According to the mediocre Google Chrome translator it looks as if he made a rude gesture to a Venezuelan reporter. Any news? Hopefully Jonas will leave safely. :D

Think it was headed at this chick http://twitter.com/mechecelta... what does it mean?

Aclaro: respeto al pueblo Lituano y no apoyo el irrespeto a su himno y cultura.. Solo puedo decir q "la figura NBA" Kleiza, es un patán! Fin

Patan lol?
