The Raptors need all star talent and trading Lowry for UTA or GSW firsts won't likley land you in the top 10. They're better off trying to get their own pick back by trading Lowry to OKC in the hope they want Lowry to replace Harden as 6th man. That would be ironic and the new GM's reversal of BC's trade that would be a fitting indictment of BC's failures here.

In any case, trading Lowry may be a good idea if the Raptors continue to suck and Lowry will, as a result, not re-sign here. However, you don't wait until next year when you're stuck with having to deal with whichever team Lowry tells you he's willing to sign with, or Lowry screws them like Bosh did.

Actually, trading Lowry straight-up for our pick back would be a fitting indictment of the failure of the new GM.

We're in no danger of Lowry leaving this off-season. If it's looking grim next season, we can move him then.

The thing that interests me most is the medias lack of opinion on the whole matter. Toronto sports management in general gets away with mediocrity all to easily. Our city is all to comfortable with mediocrity.

Watch Lowry get the max this summer.

Sorry Colangelo, there is no way out of this mess, trades won't work, signing unsigned bums won't work. The only thing we should do right now is fire Bryan and tank hard for the #1 pick.

The best thing to do is let things play out this season. Try to win don't just give OKC a big time player maybe get the 9th seed and provide them with a poor pick be the best option. Then during the summer deal Bargnani, Lowry, and try to get rid of Kleiza along with Fields somehow maybe include Ross in the deal with Fields.

That sould be the tanking line up for next year along with the young players you might get for Lowry+Bargnani and other decent assets like Amir. We need a number one option player.

I hope if we end up with top 3 pick and Shabbazz is available, we don't draft Cody Zeller over Shabbazz or James Mcadoo...

Shabazzz .... Bigger version of James Harden, more athletic

James MCadoo.... Josh Smith/Antawn Jamison

2013/2014 lineup I hoping and I'm wishing for

C- Val
PF- Ed Davis/Amir Johnsson
SF- Shabbazzz
SG- Demar
PG- Lowery

If we're going to tank there's no reason to include Ross to get rid of Fields/Kleiza , we can tank just fine with those two and we can without them .

Exactly.

Again, I wouldn't shed a tear if it happened, but why the @$#% would we let him draft for us, trade a future pick, and tie up most of our cap space just if fully prepared to send him packing after a 2-7 start (with a tough schedule when finishing 8th by the end of a season would have been considered an accomplishment and great place to start improving from). Kind of a difficult (and not very attractive) situation to bring a new GM into. Seeing as most GMs want to leave their own stamp on the roster, you can pretty much expect for a new GM to either A) give up on every bit of potential we have (by dealing Ross, Ed, and/or Jonas) or B) to give away the bulk of our veteran talent (likely Jose, Amir, Lowry, and/or Bargnani). "B" could be pretty ideal, but without fully owning our own pick, stripping the team of all its talent could be somewhat risky with very little pay out.

Even if Landry was healthy, Casey would still be putting this 2 PG lineup on the floor. Good hire BC!!

What does BC think when he's sitting at home watching these games? Does he realize he's assembled a team full of scrubs? His ego must have taken a huge hit over the past few years.

Surely MLSE must know they can't trust BC to make the next big decisions for the franchise.

Maybe Drummond will go off for 20/10 against us while TRoss rots on the bench. That and the Fields signing and a 5-15 record should be enough to fire him in another week or so.

The fans need hope MLSE. You have to fire BC now. He has been a complete failure for 7 years. Give the new GM the time he needs to evaluate this team properly and make the right moves. Clean out the front office.

$5 million a year is a bit of a picker upper and it buys a lot of self-esteem courses.

You fire him for a couple of reasons. One, to avoid having him do any more damage to the team. Two, and this shouldn't be discounted, to "punish" incompetence and failure rather than rewarding it.

As to a new GM, I think most guys who are new assistant GMs would be ecstatic to get a head GM job, even if in a less than ideal situation. It could be worse. e.g. the Bobcats last year. We do have vets who could help a veteran playoff team, e.g. Jose and Bargnani, and they might each fetch an unwanted contract and a pick.

The longer Colangelo hangs around the riskier it gets that he goes all out to save his job, e.g. working out a big deal for someone like Wilson Chandler.
