Linas Kleiza Discussion Thread
I checked the sticked thread and there doesn't seem to be one for him so I'm creating one.
-------------------------
Does anyone know why he's getting so little respect from Casey? In the In the season opener he got zero min and in this game he got 5 min until AA went down and even when he was forced in because of the injury he got like no shot (0-1). He's is a far better scorer than Lucas, McGuire, Ross, Anderson, Jonas, Amir and Ed (ie most the team). Why is he getting no shots over someone like Lucas who was chucking and bricking all night?

He seemed really sad today. Must be tough for him after his personal issues so if that's the case I understand bringing him back into the lineup slowly.

I think it will take him a while to get back into the flow of the game and get himself back mentally as well. He needs more time but I'm afraid Casey might give him too many minutes early on.

He might be forced to start if Anderson can't play. I don't think McGuire will start... and if he does... godspeed the tank.

He only got 1 shot because of Philly's defence. They had him locked down the whole time he was out there.

Re: Linas Kleiza Discussion Thread
I like Casey playing him as a stretch big off the bench, but that means there are little minutes behind Bargnani and Davis. I think he should try playing Kleiza as stretch big, and give the ball to Jonas against bench players.
After 7 minutes, Jonas subs out, and subs back in the second quarter, then playing the lineup of:
Jonas-Kleiza-Ross-Calderon-Lucas

Not really I saw him get in good positions but no one ever gave him the ball.

I don't think his teammates trust him yet

It looks like Linas will get a starting role so I'm curious what he can do now... and no team better than against the Jazz. I still don't know if he will be in shape and have the right mindset after the personal tragedy that happened to him.
Hopefully he can knock down 3s, post up, and battle for rebounds.

He looks thinner and more ripped...
Also looks more intimidating with bald head.

Coaching staff needs to get in his head and make him a spot up shooter for us from behind the arc. He can hit those corner 3s real well! Hell hes a decent postup player too. He just keeps insisting in penetration and thats the worse aspect of his game!

Re: Linas Kleiza Discussion Thread
There's a bad vibe coming from Kleiza. If the rumours about those personal issues were correct, he's really getting through tough times and who knows when he will get back to atleast servicable status. I worry about the fact he will only sit there for his hefty yearly salary and won't give a damn about the fact that the team needs him. I see him he heading to Europe when this contract ends. He's regressed greatly since his Denver days, he looked like had to prove something, now, he's just chilling.

One of the positives after a tough loss. Had he not fouled out we would've won lol. Glad he found his way in the first half considering the personal tragedy.
Linas Kleiza is a bigger Jazz killer than Kenny G

With regards to when or where Linas should play, I think he should come off the bench especially when Lowry gets back. H can play the most minutes at the three overall but to help with scoring with that second unit. A second unit of Calderon Anderson Kleiza Ed Amir looks solid with Tross getting some solid minutes as well.

Re: Linas Kleiza Discussion Thread
LOL at the Kenny G comment.
Kleiza is the best of our SFs talent-wise, but it's hard to start someone if they can't cover the Lebron, Durant and Carmelo's of the world. He's much needed on our bench, though. This year we haven't been able to score off the bench. Jose-Ross-Kleiza-Ed-Amir is actually a decent bench.

Re: Linas Kleiza Discussion Thread
^ without Fields and Anderson, Kleiza has cemented himself as a starter though. You can't play McGuire over him.
Unfortunately Casey seems clueless with rotations so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen. But yea, when Fields or Anderson get healthy, and show that they can play, then Kleiza can provide more as a bench scorer.
