I'd like to start off by saying: man, he was awful vs the 76ers.

He's earning his contact. His jumper hasn't been going down and his sweeping hooks are atrocious but he's leaving it on the court and making an impact.

With him and Jonas or even him and Ed in the game at crunch time we'd be good to go.

It's not like we're getting any offense from Bargnani and we know he kills us on the other side

I also feel like one of these days when Jose dumps it off to Amir with 1 on the clock he's gonna get it throw back in his face.

Nothing better than seeing Jose set him up at the 3 point line with 5 sec on the clock. My god

Clearly defense is the difference between winning and losing for this team.

Curious, based on age and contract who would people rather have

A) Amir
B) Humphries
C) Drew Gooden
D) Glen Davis

to me, Amir has always had a little Oakley in his game minus the nastiness. Same looking jump shot from the top of the key anyways. I miss Oak.

We need Amir to show he can play without Jose.

Frig if amir just plays the dennis rodman role in a gritty offence hes worth twice his contract.

Definitely not enough posts in this thread. Amir busts his ass out there and deserves recognition for that.

He does sometimes get stuck having to do something that isn't part of his game and still commits fouls that make you shake your head, but by and large he's a fantastic player for this team. I love that he's really bonded with the city and lives life outside the "player bubble" that many others choose to stay in.

Best rebounder on the team, plus it doesn't hurt that he genuinely like the city of Toronto.
I don't need a watch, I'm on time when I get there.

AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR AMIR

Sorry about that.

This dude is on fire! Where'd this control come from? As a starter, averaging 35 mpg and 3 fpg. How in the? What in the? Could the responsibility of being the starter and go to center keep him under control? Could coming off the bench knowing there's an option ahead of him make him play with more reckless abandon?

Tremendous player, perfect 4 next to Jonas V imo, because he can defend both 4s and 5s, whereas Eddy D is simply too small to guard bigger bigs.

I agree. I think this maybe sets up Ed for a trade as in an Ed/Jose package. I wouldn't mind if we stand pat and see what we can do with what we have. Anderson continues to impress. We need to showcase Ed every chance we get. Who wouldn't want Ed Davis? Ed's minutes more efficient than Amir's tonight. Amir plays 2 positions.

LOL...bipolar fans...where were all those who called Amir as an overpaid, unmovable contract? BC had made lots of mistakes, but Amir's extension is hardly one of them

The only time I can recall that sentiment from the majority of posters here is when he was actually signed and he was averaging 11 mpg. Since then, he's been a hands-down fan favorite. Of mine anyway.
