I'm hoping that if the Raptors can convince OKC that they'll be getting like the 12th-13th pick in the draft next year they just let us have it back for cheap at the deadline. Then tank.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

There are 50 games left. We'd need to go 32-18 to finish at .500. (That would be 37-18 if you count this 5 game win streak).

If we play that well, we certainly deserve to go in. But that's pretty unachievable for this squad.

f we do end up firing Colangelo, the organization should consider demoting him instead to head of scouting or something like that. The guy can draft in the 6-15 slots very well.

Tbh, I couldn't care less about the playoffs at this point. All I want is us to have a decent enough record so we aren't gifting OKC a top 10 pick. That is, if they decide to even take anything past the 10th pick.

We could catch up in the playoff standings by Jan. 1st, 2013 - if we play our cards right

Surely, winning a few games against other bottom feeders means the Raptors are back on track.

Don't know about that...
Houston/ Dallas are solid teams.
Orlando/Detroit/Cleveland not so much though.

Sigh.
I knew this crap would happen once we won five in a row against the league's bottom feeders.

Do people honestly believe that this Raptors squad will leapfrog teams like Indiana, Brooklyn, and Boston?

These teams have been struggling thus far, but they have the talent to turn it around. Even Philly (who is in 9th) will turn it around when Bynum comes back. However, I do think the Raps will finish the season 10th, and it will be enough for Colangelo to start his sell job of "what-ifs" to the higher ups.

Personally, I hope we break the NBA record and lose 25 in a row, finish with the fourth overall pick, and give it up to OKC with Bryan sitting at that lottery. Nobody could sell that. Not even to the retards at MLSE.

Even though I agree that we should not get ahead of ourselves, the fact is that to be a successful team you have to win. WInning starts with beating teams that are "bottomfeeders" from the there we go on to mediocre teams like ourselves, then playoff teams, then elite teams. It is the same in every sport, if you want to be a champion (or in this case make the playoffs) you have to beat the bad teams on a consistent basis, then play .500 ball against the mediocre and playoff teams.

While we should not get too excited we also should not downplay the fact that 5 W's in a row still is 5 W no matter who you play against.

Sigh. Really?

We've been beating bottomfeeders since BC arrived seven years ago. Then we started beating playoff teams as well, and finished 3rd in the East.

Then guess what?

We continued to beat bottomfeeders, and only bottomfeeders, every year for the next five years (and never had a winning season since 2006-07).

I don't know what league you've been watching, but WINNING begins with a STRONG FOUNDATION OF TALENT.
The Raptors have never made the commitment to acquire this level of talent, and none of these empty wins against bottomfeeder teams will ever grow into anything more than what it currently is.

Lets face it, we've won 5 games in a row. It's hard not to be optimistic, but it really worries me that Jonas went out. There's too many unanswered questions to know how the team will do without him.

Hope Barg's stays out as long as possible. This team is way more fun to watch when he's soaking in the game from the banch.
