This probably got lost in the CHA considering Bargnani thread, but I think a pretty realistic deal would be:

Bargs/Gray for Warrick/Diop/2nd. Diop expires, we eat a year of Warrick being horrible, get a 2nd, either a good one from Charlotte or another that they are owed from somewhere. If we follow it up with that Dallas trade from the previous page, it'd be even better.

Warrick is a team option next year so essentially, this trade is a pure salary dump. As much as I'd love to give Bargnani away that easily, I have a small glimmer of hope that he has some form of value in the league. Easy yes if they offer Portland/Detroit's first round pick instead of their 2nd (Which they don't have this year).

How about a 3 way deal where bargs goes to Charlotte, we get Wilson Chandler/mozgov, and Denver gets an expiring deal. Or work it so that we somehow get Iggy instead. I don't think DEN would be interested in Bargnani themselves, but might help facilitate a deal and get rid of some of their excess.

That'd be ok, but I'd want to move Kleiza or Fields for something then. Too much salary tied to SF.

Amnesty Kleiza, or try to get Charlotte to take him or Fields along with Bargnani. I can see them doing it since they are likely in tank mode for another 2 years anyway.

Charlotte doesn't want anything to do with Bargnani and his contract nor do I think Bryan wants anything to do with Charlotte after MJ blocked a franchise altering move with us getting Tyson Chandler.

They don't want Bargnani because they have the inexpensive version of him in Mullens who also happens to rebound the ball better.

I would never for the life of me trade Bargnani for Tyrus Thomas either.

^ For all that Mullens and Bargnani are similar, they need frontcourt scoring. They wouldn't be giving up much in that proposed trade. The trade for Tyrus doesn't make sense, I agree.

Toronto Receives: Rudy Gay, Wilson Chandler, and Brandon Jennings
Denver Receives: Andrea Bargnani, Marquis Daniels and 1st Rounder
Milwaukee Receives: Kyle Lowry
Memphis Receives: Jose Calderon, Corey Brewer, Mozgov, Ed Davis, and Future Draft Picks

What do you guys think? It's not perfect, but I don't think its that crazy.

B.Wright
D.Jones
Roddy B
Dominique Jones
+ pick

for

Jose Calderon + AA.

Dallas easily does this imo. Everyone is an expiring. We do it to get younger plus B.Wright & Roddy B could be valuable to us.

I think there is mutual hatred between BC and Hedo.

bigjabroni wrote:Calderon (10.5 mil exp) and Johnson (2 years / 13.5 mil) FOR Granger (1 year / 14 mil)

Both teams fill major holes. Indiana gets very little from their guards aside from George Hill. Calderon can play with or behind Hill. Pacers have one of the least efficient offensive in the league and Calderon excels in creating shots for others. They've also seen big drop offs from Hibbert/West to Mahinmi/Hansbrough. Johnson gives them a reliable third big who already has great chemistry with Calderon. The deal also leaves Indiana roughly 15 mil under the cap next year.

Raptors gamble that Granger can return to form for next year. If not, he becomes a 14 mil expiring deal. His shooting would be key when playing alongside Derozan. He's shown in the past hes capable of All-star calibre offence and the Raptors are banking on him doing it again.

Bargnani (2 years / 23 mil) FOR Tyrus Thomas (2 years / 18 mil)

Mostly addition by subtraction. It's obvious teams aren't willing to take on Bargnanis salary and in this case, the Bobcats are paying the difference of 5 million over 2 years in order to give Andrea a change of scenery. The Raptors' modest savings, with a Kleiza amnesty, allow some wiggle room under the cap this summer. In the meantime, they receive a player who's shown flashes in the past and whatever altheticism he brings is a bonus.

With these moves, the Raptors are left with holes at both backup point guard and power forward which are traditionally the easiest positions to acquire in free agency.

Good ideas, but I'd say no to both. I'd rather keep Amir than gamble on Granger's health. Plus Jose could fetch other goodies without including Amir. Or come off the books, or resign for a reasonable contract (if he's dumb enough).

Thomas has a year less but can't be amnestied. So I'd keep Bargs in hopes that a new manager would amnesty him if he proves untradeable.

edit: and looking at your avatar. There was a best of kung fu video my friend had in high school. One of the scenes is the one in your avatar. It showed the school Jackie Chan etc, went to. Crazy fight scenes down stairs. I recall it as called 'dangerous moves' but can't find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? :)

Trade of some young pieces and bad contracts:

Trade ID #6214992

Toronto Trades:
- Bargnani
- Ross
- Linas K
- John Lucas

Sacremento trades:
- Tyreke Evans
- John Salmons
- Travis Outlaw

You got Bargnani, whose outside game compliments Cousins, and a young west coast Ross to build for Sac. Sac also loses 2 bad contracts in Salmons and Outlaw.

Raptors get some decent value back for Bargnani in a young star Evans, who can team up with Demar at the 2/3 spot. Raps also shed Linas and Lucas off their team

I dont like the trade personally. Evans is going to want to be paid while Ross is on a rookie contract. I dont even think I would trade Ross for Evans straight up.

I also would trade a 7fter in Bargnani for two more awful wings
