Oh wow.. giving up both Davis and Ross? I say something like Jose and Linas K, and Alan Anderson for Milsap and Marvin Williams

What about this deal:

Trade ID #6205076

Toronto trades:
Jose Calderon
Terrence Ross
Linas Klezia
Quincy Acy

Sacramento trades:
John Salmons
Tyreke Evans
Thomas Robinson
Jimmer Fredette

More of a salary dump really for the Kings with Jose's expiring contract and a young SG in Ross. Get rid of Salmons long contract and Evans upcoming contract extension. Raptors may be taking on more contract then they want.

Jose and Demar for Tyreke, Salmons, and Thomas Robinson also works.

right now Ed is looking just as impressive, if not moreso, than Favors (I could understand the argument for Favors having higher upside though), and Burks has looked pretty mediocre. I think as a duo, Ross and Ed are more valuable than Favors/Burks. The Marvin/Jose swap is inconsequential, although that is probably a downgrade for the Raps talentwise as well.

I'd have to swap Ed for Favors because the latter is two years younger, and, critical for me, Favors is more physically robust. When Ed is physically overmatched, he is often overrun. If our goal is to build a future contender, we can't let the Monroes and Cousins of the world run roughshod over our frontcourt.

But have no fear - Utah is in love with Favors and won't give him up.

They need some more character guys, salary relief and upside that's under contract to pitch to new ownership and fans. They didn't offer Evans a big expensive extension for a reason. They don't want to, just as OKC didn't want to invest long term in Harden if they could swing a deal.

Evans should be our #1 target at the moment.

I am a firm believer that I would like to add the best asset possible for any combination not including Ross, Davis, Jonas, Johnson, Lowry, and even DeRozan.

Which basically leaves Jose and IMO Alan Anderson as perhaps the two most desirable guys on the roster.

I suspect they want an expiring to clear Salmons, but Salmons contract is toxic waste and while I may be in the minority I would need more the Evans to take that contract on for Jose.

However I think the opportunity to get Evans and something else is certainly there.

Give them Calderon, Davis + their 2nd rdr back

Davis could be a nice piece next to Cousins. There's no way just some cap relief and a former d-leaguer gets us Tyreke despite the franchise's indifference with him. They know he can at least get them some minimal asset....a solid PF and a 2nd rdr is at least something. I know some would hate it but I would still do a straight swap of DeRozan for Evans.

Calderon
Evans
Gay
A. Johnson
J. Valanciunas

How far would we would go with that lineup (plus acquiring some other pieces for depth purposes)?

Do you think Michael Jordan would do this?

Calderone + Ed + Ross for MKG + Ben Gordon or Tyrus Thomas

I just want to get rid of Bargnani. As long as it doesn't cost Jonas or Ross. Unfortunately, I am finding it hard to identify teams that might even remotely want him. Maybe the Lakers still?

I think Philly could still be interested. Not sure what it would take to get a deal done but he'd fit there.

DeMar and MKG at the wing? Where's the 3pt shooting gonna come from? Keep Bargnani? Please no.

If we have to take back bad contracts to get rid of Bargnani then just amnesty him. It'll certainly create more cap space than amnestying Kleiza.

I'm down for Evans too. I think he could be a really solid piece for us.

My preference for a deal would a straight up deal of DeRozan for Evans. Maybe Kings bite that if they feel they can't get anything more for him and he'll command more than what DeRozan makes in free agency.

On the high end, the most I'd trade for him is Calderon + Ed + Kings 2nd rounder for Evans + something. Also, an extension would have to be guaranteed for me to even think about making a deal for him. Teams in the offseason will throw money at him for sure. I'm thinking Phoenix for sure at least.

I suspect the intention of new management is to walk into this off-season being able to add a sizey piece to park beside Cousins and go along with their high lotto pick in the 2013 draft.

The only way they do that is to clear Salmons off the books; and since I don't think the Sonics have any intention to match the type of contract Evans will likely end up with this summer they may as well capitalize on the asset while its still an asset;

Jose + Their 2014 2nd for Salmons + Evans

We have to pay Salmons next season and we need to re-up Evans, I think clearing Salmons obligation off their books is more the enough compensation for Evans.

Who do you think they would move? Despite the Bynum nightmare I think they are certain to hold onto him. I'd love to get my hands on Thaddeus Young but I think they need him to balance out Turner since the are both kinda between positions.

Jose calderon to hawks for Devin harris + better of the (rockets/hawks pick this year) most likely in the late teens early 20's

Hawks have struggled after a hot start. Same with Jeff teague. Josh smith is in a walk year, and ATL is looking to preserve cap space for a run at Dwight Howard(local kid)
