No backbone to that rumor

It was just a scenario in a hoopsworld article

I really hope not. Jeff Green is an equally crappy player on a terrible deal (his per 36 rebounding is the same as Bargs, and his PER is actually slightly worse) whose deal runs an extra year. At least Bargs could conceivably get hot as a bench scorer (or maybe in a situation where he's paired with a great C) and provide some go-to scoring.

To Golden State :
Bargnani
Fields

To Toronto:
Biedrins
Rush (injured)
Barnes
Trade ID #6198062 (IFs and IFs)

The Warriors won't give up their recent lotto pick for our overpaid underachievers. If they were willing to make Barnes available, they'd be better off trying to move him for a real upgrade at SF.

What do you people think about making a deal with Utah, it makes perfect sense for us and somewhat for Utah. They need a point guard (calderon) and have too many good big men (not necessarily a bad thing obviously). A package of bargnani and calderon to get favors would be delicious but they'd probably move jefferson or millsap before kanter or favors. I think millsap is expiring not sure, but I would take millsap if we could extend that bitch.

This may be interesting. Only see this if Raptors really cannot land Gay. A straight up Bargnani for Green will work only if we have a separate deal to get rid of Linas Klezia as well. Green can play the 3/4 and has some talent. I take Green over Bargnani.

They do play small to close out games (Curry, Jack&Thompson) Barnes is only getting 25 minutes in spite of his talent (Fields can be the defensive specialist and still young )
Biedrins gets no PT and has 2 more years at 9 per..so you can pay him to sit on the Bench or you get a player at around the same price that can contribute (Bargnani)..
Biedrins would be an upgrade over GRAY.

I think Utah makes some sense as a partner;
I would imagine Favors is the futures, and they hope Kanter may be his frontcourt partner long term, but with Millsap and AlJef expiring after this season I would imagine they may be entertaining offers to address some other needs using either of them.

I just don't know if we really have the assets they are looking for that we would want to move for players who may likely bolt for nothing.

Utah will have to give up one of Al or Millsap in the offseason. I think their biggest priority right now is at the PG position. From the Raptors, Utah would probably want Lowry. If we can extend Millsap at a reasonable contract in a trade scenario I would love to package Lowry with Andrea for Millsap as principles. Maybe Utah would give up Burks? Obviously fillers needed to balance salary.

IT doesn't make sense and Toronto is going to miss out on an opportunity to get a STARTER type of player. No more role players

We need to stay away from Gay. No use in dealing assets for an overpaid starter and the furthest we're gonna get is a first round exit. Why lock ourselves into mediocrity?

Jennings
Ilyasova

For

Lowry
Bargnani

I think Lowry's out once his contract is up with us, and we all know Bargnani is detrimental to this team. Jennings seems like he doesn't want to be in Milwaukee and I think he'd stay with us long term along side one of his best friends in DeRozan. Ilyasova can still rebound and provide the "space" Casey loves at 4 better than Bargnani.

I think BC is hesitant to deal either Ross or DeRozan in deals for Gay, but one of them is going to be needed if we really want to get him.

Ross
Calderon
filler

for

Gay
Wroten

A lineup of:

Jennings/Wroten (going have to improve backup PG for now)
DeRozan/Anderson
Gay/Fields
Ilyasova/Ed
Valanciunas/Amir

Definitely looks like a more explosive/young team that has a better chance of contending for playoffs in the east.

What do you guys think of this trade? We get a good scoring SG who isn't doing too well right now so he is probably cheaper to get, and we get a solid replacement PG in Brooks to backup Lowry all for the price of Davis considering Calderon is gone next season.
