The only criteria for talking trash is knowing you're exposing yourself, and as long as you can back it up (the Nuggets just beat LA twice), you can talk all you want. A resume comparison between the other team and yourself isn't a pre-requisite.

The Lakers beat them when it mattered, though - and I don't think any of them went out of their way to stir the pot afterwards.

Talking trash after beating a storied franchise in a meaningless regular season game is pretty weak, IMO. Especially when your team hasn't achieved anything of significance..
