No ironically enough, I have never posted on any Raptors rumors. How do I check my post history and quote myself anyways ?

Would we, as a 3rd team, take such a package from Houston (via Boston) for Amir? We would have to add salary, Novak to Houston works.

Here are Boston's picks:

2014 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Brooklyn will convey the less favorable of its 2014 1st round pick and Atlanta's 2014 1st round pick to Boston (via Atlanta's right to swap for Brooklyn) [Atlanta-Brooklyn, 7/11/2012 and then Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]

2015 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers' 2015 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-L.A. Clippers, 6/25/2013]

2015 second round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 2015 2nd round pick to Boston protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Boston will be extinguished) [Boston-Sacramento, 2/17/2009]

2016 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Brooklyn's 2016 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]

2017 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Boston has the right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2017 1st round pick; if Boston exercises this swap right, then Boston will convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-45 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Boston's obligation to Brooklyn will be extinguished) [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]

2017 second round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 2017 2nd round pick to Boston protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Boston will be extinguished) [Boston-Sacramento, 2/24/2011]

2018 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Brooklyn's 2018 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]

No clue, I just joined recently so I don't know how to check previous post history. To quote yourself I think you just press quote and copy and paste that into your reply in this thread.

Yeah. I know about quoting, that was just one question though haha. Dec 12 and already 200 posts. Dang. I'm one of the oldest posters in here but rarely post

Word. A lot of my posts are on the Knicks forum ironically enough, because of the Lowry trade supposedly that was going down.

If you have a PF that can play with Dwight you can get Asik cheap right now. BOS is taking advantage of that. Looks like they want to be the new Bulls. Don't be surprised if Thibs goes back to BOS next year if CHI blows things up.

I expect the first round pick to be one of the worst ones BOS has or heavily protected. HOU has no real leverage it seems. Although BOS knows how hard it is to find C's, they were looking all last year.

Can we confirm this once and for all? I thought that was only if Chicago matched?

Cap hit = ~8 million, actual payout of salary = ~15 million.

Yup. Had Chicago matched, Asik's cap hit would have been 5M/5M/15M. Since they didn't, Asik's cap hit is 8.3M/8.3M/8.3M.

With Rondo back and a trade for Asik, Boston can take the divison. Hell, they're leading it without either guy.

They could rival the Pacers with their ability to defend if this trade goes down.

So how does that work in trades? If they traded Asik straight up, do they have to take back $5m in salary or $8.3?

All with a rookie head coach. Why can't we get lucky like Boston?

Because they have Ainge, we had Colangelo.

They will probably be the best team in their division next season as well.

Ainge probably realizes that his team is too good tank, so he might as well add some good players and win the division.

Plus, they have a lot of #1 picks and young players that they could package together to move up in the draft later on.

Or their own 2014 pick if they're thinking they're an Asik plus Rondo returning from injury away from Top 3 in the East ahead of the Nets and Hawks. In this scenario, that pick would be better than their own.

The market is also weak because Morey let out that there was a self-imposed Dec 19 deadline. That never helps your bargaining power. I know why they want a deal done by tomorrow, but you lose some leverage by putting yourself on the clock.

It could also have an opposite impact on a GM who is trigger happy, with the deadline approaching he may panic thinking Houston has an offer pending (which is why there was a deadline to begin with) and he ends up throwing in the farm.

I agree with DTox, the other way of looking at it would be that if he doesn't trade get a good package by the 19th he would just keep Asik.

Morey signs Asik to a poison pill contract, and is able to trade him for a 1st rounder.

Colangelo gives up a guaranteed lottery pick for Lowry. Now we are hoping (dreaming) of getting any kind of first rounder in return.
