Hope we don't have crappy "rich man" playoff crowds like the Leafs do. They are the worst when it comes to enthusiasm.

Defend it all you want but 1st time in a while we make the playoffs and it's the most expensive across the league?

How much will it be if we make it next year?

Guess we can be #1 at something in the NBA (green font)
Pascal to the future.

I feel like this could be used when recruiting free agents. We got hardcore fans willing to pay. More than any other b fans in the league so long as there is a winning team

Refreshing stubhub relentlessly is your best bet.

I got two tickets on there yesterday for 135 each (so basically 150 CAD as stubhub prices are USD).

Just to make clear once again - these are NOT MLSE prices (we know they're high, but not highest).

These are RESALE tickets. Markups are being made by long suffering season ticket holders trying to make back some of their investment over the years and some of the 2200 or so "open market" tickets that went up for sale. Many of those are being kept by those who bought them, or they bought tickets for more games so they could sell half to cover some (or all) of the cost of their own games.

If there was no extremely high demand, this would not be possible.

If there was demand in Miami, then they wouldn't be selling for less than face value.

It goes to show how strong a market we are and how hungry this city is for a winner. This team is better than the 07 team and should be able to have ongoing success in the seasons to come, considering the age of our key players. People want to enjoy this ride and are willing to pay for it. People who go to games after spending $400 a pop will probably all say it was worth every penny, because the ACC will be an amazing place in these playoffs.

I was suspended yesterday after posting in this thread. I will officially be boycotting this forum as the moderator who took this has not stated why I was suspended after numerous messages to him. Disappointed in REALGM today.

If you listened to the Toronto sports media only a few people cared for the Raptors and it was mostly young kids who were broke.

If anyone remembers 06/07 as well as the VC days, playoff tickets were in ridiculous demand at substantial prices.

True.

Media in Canada grossly understates basketball fandom in Canada, almost to the extent that you can call it suppression. It's strange really but I almost get the feeling that there are financial interests in keeping Hockey #1 in Canadians' "mindshare".

But that's his downside.

No thats his backside.

Of course.

If you see the way TV ratings numbers are shoved down our throat it only makes sense as disruption to that model would not be good for business. Also, all these pundits that grew up watching hockey and baseball would then have to find new jobs as they know just enough basketball to cover the surface (eg Jeff Blair, McCowan, Dave Naylor, etc)

Of course TV numbers are based on proration, and not actual hard counts.

Web based stats (not the same as TV) like Google Search queries and Twitter trends that are much more concrete paint a much different picture.

If the Raptors got significantly more media coverage, season prices may even get to the point where its the same as the leafs.

Also the the article was written by the CEO of TiqIQ, the site the numbers were taken from. Not exactly a reliable source. All of his articles are just trying to get people to go to TiqIQ
