If you listened to the Toronto sports media only a few people cared for the Raptors and it was mostly young kids who were broke.
If anyone remembers 06/07 as well as the VC days, playoff tickets were in ridiculous demand at substantial prices.

But that's his downside.
No thats his backside.

True.
Media in Canada grossly understates basketball fandom in Canada, almost to the extent that you can call it suppression. It's strange really but I almost get the feeling that there are financial interests in keeping Hockey #1 in Canadians' "mindshare".

These are RESALE tickets. Markups are being made by long suffering season ticket holders trying to make back some of their investment over the years and some of the 2200 or so "open market" tickets that went up for sale. Many of those are being kept by those who bought them, or they bought tickets for more games so they could sell half to cover some (or all) of the cost of their own games.
If there was no extremely high demand, this would not be possible.
If there was demand in Miami, then they wouldn't be selling for less than face value.
It goes to show how strong a market we are and how hungry this city is for a winner. This team is better than the 07 team and should be able to have ongoing success in the seasons to come, considering the age of our key players. People want to enjoy this ride and are willing to pay for it. People who go to games after spending $400 a pop will probably all say it was worth every penny, because the ACC will be an amazing place in these playoffs.
