Dick was one of the best. Violet one of the worst. I echo the other poster's statements that we shouldn't even know these guys names in the first place.

While agree that being an NBA ref is one of the hardest jobs in professional sports, too often NBA refs let their ego/possible bias get in the way of calling a fair game.

But congrats to both nevertheless.

I've always wondered, how much do NBA referees make?

Sourcing is somewhat sketchy but from various web searches, appears they make between $150,000 to $550,000 (depending on experience/responsibility/etc.).

It also depends on whether or not the team beats the spread

This thread would be a lot better if Dick Bavetta was marrying Violet Palmer like how I mis-read it originally.

I thought 3 posts in I would read "somebody getting some Violent Plumber" but then rather than the sexist thing the righteous riot act has been threatened for any orientation slurs. During the scandal and corruption of the ex ref (Forgot his name) a reporter asked Stern this same question. I was excited as I always wanted to know. He said 200k to 400k. The ex ref was making 250k at the time. That was years ago so you can add inflation. They also fly business and stay in 5 star hotels, with good benefits and work 7-9 months out of the year. Depending if you have enough experience to ref the playoffs an finals. But its a tough job nonetheless.
