DeAndre Daniels Headed to Perth Wildcats

Post#1 » by Left Side Drive » Thu Aug 7, 2014 1:49 pm

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/basketball/a/24656925/another-nba-prospect-in-wildcats-grasp/

The Wildcats proved their worth as a development tool for NBA prospects last season, providing a platform for rookie forward Ennis to improve himself on and off the court.

DD 2.0 coming in to replace James Ennis who is now part of the Miami Heat.

Can we stop calling him DD or DD 2.0

I thought this thread was going to be about DeMar, and I am left disappointed.

DeMar the original DD. Version 1.0. If Daniels eventually ever becomes a part of the squad DD 2.0 ain't bad a nickname similar to how when Allen Iverson and Iguodala used to link up in Philly with the A.I and A.I 2.0 nickname pairing.

So is the Aussie league any good? They must have struck out on all the decent teams in Europe.

At least language shouldn't be as big of a deal and Australia has some pretty hot women.

great spot to put him, Ennis is going to be a good NBA player... if DeAndre can be turned into Ennis he'll make our roster next year

2.0 implies a better, updated version. The Raps, I doubt, will be getting that from Daniels. So, it's a dumb nickname.

How good is the Australian league? I'm thinking below a lot of the European leagues but how about NBDL?

If you're going to exile someone to a foreign land Australia is a great choice. No language barrier and great weather. Well played Masai.

Perth is almost a foreign land within Australia.

But yes, nice beaches, warm weather, hot women. He's taking his talents to West Beach!

That's a good question. Maybe Daniels didn't make the European threshold for passing, but is the NBL better than the D-League? Is the money better? I don't know what he'll get from this.

If he wanted the money he should have went to China, if he wants the competition he should have went to Europe. Australia is maybe something in between. At least he's playing for the defending champs.

I think as long as its better than the D league its a good place. A young guy like him might not have gotten a lot of PT in Europe, especially when they know he's there short term. This way he has no language barrier either.

There are no sure things at the NBA level so if the team investing in him sends him to a warm locale with a not too freaky culture (gimme a Fawsters) etc. then he is the kind of smart person that will make this a net positive. At his age it is all an adventure where he works on his game and physique and surfing.

Im currently in litigation against Paul Levesque, im asking 750 million in damages (and any retroactive monies accrued on the name, through merchandising/etc..), or the WWE asset.

DeAndre better be careful.

Somebody within the organization wanted a free trip to Australia to "check on his progress".
