A lot of people will hate on this game whether or not they've played it or not and that's warranted because EA hasn't done anything to prove otherwise. I can post good reviews just like you can post bad reviews.

All I can say is try the game because you have the option to. Why judge off reviews (regardless if they're good or bad) when you have the option to try the game for free? 2K didn't have that option so reviews and impressions were all people could go off of.

In my opinion 2K >>> live. Others might disagree, but from what I've seen 2k is a more complete game.

I haven't played 2k15, but I had 14. From what I've seen, NBA 2k15 isn't that much different gameplay wise.

I downloaded the live 15 demo, and it's honestly quite good. the spacing is excellent, the dribbling as well.

i feel like 2k is a lot more simple to play, while in live you need to set up plays more and screens aren't as effective at times..

i'm going to be crucified for this but i felt it was more realistic than 2k14..

I tried it out and I have to say I agree with the IGN review. The player models and animations really get to me, they're pretty poor. I could live with that if I thought the gameplay was excellent but IMO it's not, the controls just seem unpolished. The pace of the game also seems uncomfortably fast for me.

I think the best part of this game is going to be the fact that it might get 2K to make further improvements to their already superior game. I'm glad to see there's another basketball game out there for competition and hopefully they improve their game in the next couple of years because it's not quite there yet.

I'm definitely not buying Live 15, I really can't justify buying it at its price tag. I would maybe consider it if it was competitively priced at $39.99 but still, I'd probably just buy the better game with 2K.

Of course. Whoever thinks Live is better than 2K right now is being a homer. I prefer Live 15 but that doesn't make it a better game. I've said from the beginning 2K is the better game right now. 2K is better because they've had years to develop their engine.

Live just started rebuilding last year so it's gonna take them some time to be on par with 2K. I just want competition. 2K has gotten lazy. They've become EA of the old. Live 15 is a solid game. It's not better than 2K but it's also not the same as 2K. Both games are completely different from each other.

Turn on auto motion for the CPU and yourself. Automotion=player movement without set plays being called. Also adjust the foul sliders. I have everything at 100 but see what works for you.

Difficulty wise go with all star or superstar. Also don't hold L2/LT like 2K when you play defense, you'll get burned. Just move your feet.

Good to see you try the game at least. Hopefully this wakes 2K up and Live continues to improve. I can't take the IGN review seriously because they gave Live 14 a 4.3 and Live 14 was one of the worst games ever released.

I don't know how Live 15 gets a 5.5. It's 100x better than Live 14. If they would of given it a 6.5, that would of been fair imo. I think it easily deserves a 7.5 at the minimum but its gonna take some time for people to get used to Live.

I finally got to try the game out and I'll echo what Scarface has been saying It's not bad. That review from IGN was a bit unfair.

A few things they can do to improve the game:
- fix the shooting. Tapping the shot button is not "releasing the ball at the top of your shooting motion" like they suggest in the tutorial.
- get your bigs to set the screens quicker. Seems like an eternity holding that button down, waiting for your big to set up.
- fix the AI. CPU teammates will just stand around until you tell them to do something. This is where 2k15 shines this year, and where Live fails.
- add more lines for Breen and JVG. They kept repeating themselves.
- player models and facescans could use some improvement. Players don't look bad during cutscenes, but again, 2K15 looks a bit better than Live

Other than that, I thought it was a step in the right direction. If things continue to progress as they have been, then 2K17 vs Live 17 might be a virtual tie. I expect 2K16 to hold a lead next year, as I don't think the computer AI can be built over the course of a year, especially in a game of basketball.

TL;DR - NBA Live 15 is ok, but 2K15 is still the better overall game.

They've fixed the shooting in the day 1 patch. Defense is also much better. I personally like the quick release but a lot of people seem to feel the same way you do.

The P&R system is better than 2K imo but I agree with you. They need to speed it up.

Did you turn on automotion? Live has automotion off for some reason by default. Automotion=player movement. They move a lot more when it's turned on. Also synergy is just starting to kick in. Most underrated aspect of the game. Synergy updates stats, tendencies, shot charts, playing style all in real time. The CPU is looking much better now and it should continue to improve as the season goes on.

http://www.easports.com/nba-live/news/2 ... rgy-sports

This technology is why they'll surpass 2K in the CPU/ball movement area imo. 2K's CPU is pretty predictable and repetitive because it's all manually set by 2K themselves. Live has official NBA technology that does it automatically.

Yeah commentary needs more lines. I don't mind the current commentary though. 2K's commentary is more detailed but it gets repetitive pretty quick.

Player scans are a hit and miss. Wade, Cousins look better than anything i've seen in 2K. On the other hand, Taj Gibson looks terrible. They did say that they will add/update more face models as the season progresses. They actually updated quite few in the day 1 patch.

I honestly think Live 16 will be right there with 2K16. 2K is no doubt the better game right now but i'm enjoying Live a lot.

I believe live is an excellent game disc to use as a coaster. Great so I can enjoy my tea whilst playing 2K.

OUCH.

D-league quality?

I know you want something different than 2k but this is rated as one of the worst sports games ever.

There is. It's a 6 hour trial of the full game. Search NBA Live 15 on the XB1 store and it'll pop up.

I tried it.

It definitely feels improved over last year but it's just not up to par.

I like how responsive the shooting feels, but good lord are the release points broken. I basically have to tap the shot button to get a proper release with Kyrie Irving.

The signature dribbles look cool but are basically just overpowered, canned animations. Doesn't cut it now. 2k's new signature size ups that you can break out of at any time feel much, much better.

Play in the paint is really behind the times. There's not enough contact and what's there leads to some really awkward looking layup animations. Again, 2k improved this area immensely this year and Live's just doesn't come close.

I really hope they come with a full revamp next year. This still has too much of Live 14's DNA intact.
