Yes indeed it will be interesting. His numbers were good in Japan though, 20+ ppg and 6+ apg. Nice to see different types of players coming into this league.

Also interesting is Biosteel and NBLC (as I am a big hockey guy too)

This is pretty cool as I've met Alex Johnson (left) before. Very nice to see BioSteel support basketball as mainly from what I've seen they are very focused on hockey. Great for basketball in Canada!

Mississauga Power player Morgan Lewis is headed to...Saudi Arabia? What? I wasn't even aware that they had a pro basketball league there. He must be getting paid!

Yea I saw that on Twitter from OnPoint Basketball. That's a lot of scoring gone for the Power. Also confirmed on Power official website http://www.powerbasketball.ca/news/100107/morgan-lewis-joins-saudi-premier-league

I guess Tut Ruach will have to step up. He was fun to watch in the CIS as well!

One article to share and it's about former York University Star, David Tyndale!

I haven't lived in Canada for a few years and I don't have the time to read through 8 pages right now, but I do have a few questions about the NBL:

1) How much support is this league getting? Can you see it still running in 10 years?

2) Are any of the games televised? The Score, SN, and TSN must at the very least show highlights.

3) Any way to watch games online?

4) Who is the face of the league? Either coach, player, or otherwise?

5) How much are these players making on average? Is it enough to keep them playing in the league long-term?

1) How much support is this league getting? Can you see it still running in 10 years?
Can't help you with that. I think the support is spotty around the league (corporate wise). London Lightning leading the way with that category. Mississauga is coming up with their recent partnership with BioSteel and PEAK Sports

2) Are any of the games televised? The Score, SN, and TSN must at the very least show highlights.
NBLC signed with BeIN Sports which I think is shown on Bell. No idea the details as I see nothing online on it. Maybe Dr.Coach can provide more info as he has the "inside" info.

3) Any way to watch games online?
Yeah I think so.... I've personally only watched it live in Brampton, London, and Mississauga

4) Who is the face of the league? Either coach, player, or otherwise?
League doesn't do a lot of marketing - it's mostly the marketing by the team. Since I live in the GTA I only know Brampton and Mississauga the most. Brampton has Cavell Johnson, Brent Jennings while Mississauga has Tut Ruach, Alex Johnson and (now gone) Morgan Lewis.

5) How much are these players making on average? Is it enough to keep them playing in the league long-term?
That I am not sure..... I'm just a fan but Dr.Coach or someone else familiar with the league could help?

Moncton Miracles land Tyler Murray
Moncton Miracles (NBL Canada) tabbed 24-year old swingman Tyler Murray (195-91kg-90, college: Wagner). He played last season at Mississauga Power (NBL Canada). In 26 games he had 6.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.8apg. The most of previous (2012-13) season Murray spent at London Lightning. In 17 NBL Canada games he recorded 3.5ppg in 2012-13 season. He helped them to win the league title. Murray also spent pre-season at Astrum Levice (NBL) in Czech Republic league that year. He was voted NABC Division I All-District 18 2nd Team in 2012 at his college time.
Murray graduated from Wagner College in 2012 and it will be his third season as a professional player.

I've actually been doing some research on the Andre Livingston and the Halifax franchise for a story....to the poster who asked about how much the players are making, it looks like the salary cap for each team is around 150K, and, at least for Halifax, the annual operating budget is about 600K.
