Nice try though

I think Livingston is clearly better than GV.

Draymond is an animal... tossup between him and Patman IMO.

Suns have better talent in the backcourt, but IMHO they are extremely weak up front.

The actual Suns bench is likely to be Thomas, Green, Marcus Morris, TJ Warren and Len (who looks much improved from last year, even though he is playing with a messed up finger on his left hand). I think they will be #1 when the dust settles.

Definitely not clearly better with Livingston and GV. To me it is clear that Livingston is the better defensive player and it is clear that GV is the better offensive player.

Also, Patty is better than Draymond I think, although I do like Draymond's passing and rebounding. Patty covers a lot more space on D and is much better scorer and also helps out ball movement for a team.

I think we have the 3rd best bench in the league behind the Bulls and Spurs.

Vasquez/Williams/Johnson/Patterson/Hansbrough

Mills/Ginobili/Belinelli/Bonner/Diaw

Brooks/Hinrick/McDermott/Mirotic/Gibson

The knock on our bench is that we don't have a player that jumps out at you like a Ginobili, Gibson, Crawford and etc, so people generally overlook our bench but its one of the most diverse, deep and reliable bench squad in the league. you need a defensive stopper? we have Johnson. you need some instant offence? we have Williams. your starting PG is injured or in foul trouble? we have Vasquez. you need a stretch 4? we have patterson. you want some nasty? we have hansbrough...everyone has something special that they can provide and thats something that we have never really had in a long time.

The biggest possible boost to our bench would come from the development of Bebe.

I liked what I saw from Hansbrough yesterday, but if you take the other four players and add in a legit 7 foot shotblocking center with length who plays with energy, that will be huge.
The absurd mystery of the strange forces of existence.

Outside of JJ on offense our second unit might be the best after the Spurs.

I think we have the potential to have the best bench rotation. Lets wait and see.

IMHO, I believe a lot of preseason assessments overlooked just how much of an asset our bench will be - and how improved it is.

All of these guys played minutes for the Raptors last year.

John Salmons - 1281
Steve Novak - 540
Nando De Colo - 193
Dwight Buycks - 146
Julyan Stone - 120

They are all gone.

In their place we have James Johnson and Lou Williams.

That is, quite simply, a ridiculously massive upgrade.

What I really love about our bench is that they are going to make opponents work on both ends of the floor. There will be no rest against our second unit who, while not as talented as our starters, certainly play with just as much intensity and aggressiveness. And they may actually be a smidge better defensively.

I agree with everything you said. ESPN or some other sports network should hire you as an analyst instead of the boneheads that work everywhere (ex: Shaq)

Spurs 1st and then Raptors 2nd.

Suns have the kind of bench that is fun in 2k but does it work in real life? we'll see.

Also how about the Bulls?

I don't know their exact starting line up but lets say it's Rose, Butler, Dunleavy, Gasol, Noah

bench mob would be: Gibson, Mcdermott, Mirotic, Hinrich, Aaron Brooks. Pretty solid bench.

Add Bebe to that depth in a year or two once he's developed a bit. Defensive stopper.

GS and Spurs are only bench better and that is providing GS keeps Iggy on their bench. Suns definitely do not have a better bench, their backup bigs are terrible if they are playing the Morris twins in the starting lineup, even though their perimeter players on bench are great.

Other than Vince, I don't think any of these players would get minutes over any of our bench players.

Kosta Koufos would certainly get minutes if he were on our team. He is a very underrated player.

Toronto's is the best in the East with Chicago 2nd but there rookies aren't anything special.
West Spurs, GS & Suns are very good we will see.
If Bebe can develop and played that would be a massive plus.

How about:

Mo Williams
Zach LaVine
Andrew Wiggins
Gorgui Dieng
Anthony Bennett

Return to Toronto Raptors
