Nice stats... What teams were all those games against without Demar??? Not hard to be in the + when you play knicks x2, pacers, magic, nets etc.

Those stats were against all different teams the would have played over those minutes.

Also not hard to be in the + when you play Philly, OKC without Durant/Westbrook, and Orl x2

Whats your point?

Oh if it matters at all, more than half of Demar's positive net rating comes from 2 games. I repeat, 2 games. Orlando and Milwaukee. Over 80% of it from 5 games (Orlando, Milwaukee, Utah, Philly, Washington)

So... you were saying opposition matters? Sure does......

Its really simple bud. Look at teams we have beaten with Demar. Cavs, Grizzlies, Suns, Hawks x2, Wizards. Now tell me some above .500 teams we have beaten without Demar??? Oh yes again that's right you can't.

/Thread.

You argument is pretty flawed. Those teams we played early has improved both of the ORtg and DRtg. Look at Atlanta, their games improved as they go against other strong teams, which means their previous struggle was not because of one individual team, but their own performance. Unless you can prove those top teams are playing great against all other teams, and not playing great against us alone, otherwise, the factor seems to be themselves.

Nobody is denying that Atlanta is playing better. Still doesn't erase the fact that we have not beaten any above .500 teams without Demar. Cant argue it.

obviously its NOT that simple, "bud". Demar is NOT the only change that happens over that time.

There are 9 other people having an effect on the roster in any given game. Home and away. Opposition rosters. etc etc

What the injury to Demar has shown is that his impact on this team has been marginal at best.
Optimism Bias is the tendency of individuals to underestimate the likelihood they will experience adverse events. Optimistic bias cannot be reduced, and by trying to reduce the optimistic bias the end result was generally even more optimistically biased

Our defense was awful for the longest time since stupid Casey decided to start and play Trashquez as our 2 guard.
None of this shows that DD is that impactful. The offense is not and has never been the issue (first couple games we were out of whack cause everyone is used to playing with Demar). The defense is the problem, and I can assure you DD is not the missing link in that regards.

I'd like to see our Defrtg with landry as the starter vs GV.

Starters + GV DRTG:

118.1

Starters + Fields DRTG

93.4

Starters + Johnson DRTG

101.4

Starters + Demar DRTG

102

Ah awesome man thanks!

That's really quite telling. Our avg ORTG barely changed while if we just slotted in Fields instead of DD we would have vastly improved D.

Why did Casey go from Landry to James Johnson as a starter? It serves no real purpose at all.

edit: Didn't know he was injured, oh well.

Anyone who thinks we are better without Demar should be put on a board wide ignore list (ie. banned)

I think the Clippers aren't the top tier of the top 12 teams, as they also lost to the other top 12 teams as well.

I think the up coming Portland and Golden States games will test our lineup. I think we will struggle defensively against Golden States, but we may have some firepower to stay close in the game. Portland game will depend if Jonas and Amir when they defend Aldridge, which seems to be achievable as Aldridge is injured (illness).

hilarious. perfect example of the pre-determined agenda some posters have against casey, demar, JV, etc.

"he's not playing fields, what an idiot!"

LOL, really? I've been a big Casey supporter since day 1. It was an honest mistake.

Considering how good our bench is, we should be a team that is better suited to the regular season than the playoffs (where other teams can play their starters more minutes). And we're in the East. So, even though we're on pace to win 63-64 games we're probably best though or more like a normal 55 win team at this point that you would expect to comfortably win a playoff round (especially in the East) and then be a real threat in the 2nd or 3rd round, depending on matchups, but not a title favorite. With the East being so bad, though, we might be closer to the KIdd-era Nets who made finals by playing good team ball and got outclassed by the West winners and their superstar(s).

The offense is good enough, as these charts show. The D is not there yet. Hopefully Jonas can make a big leap forward as the anchor of the D (certainly plausible at his age and he has decent but not outstanding rim protection numbers so room to improve and potential shown), and Casey has shown in the past he's capable of getting better production on D than this.
Where's the D?
