Vasquez is smart and has the length to keep his man in front from time to time. He is better than Calderon on defense in many ways.

You forgot LAZY, jose' knew he wasn't fast enough but tried, Vasquez knows he isn't fast enough and DOESN'T TRY. I'd trade him at the draft and bring in COJO for the same money ANYTIME.

Calderon's defense was much worse. At least Vazquez can use his size and length against shorter players and can guard a lot of Wing players too, Calderon couldn't match up to anyone really. Also GV's defense metrics actually don't grade out that badly believe it or not.
