First of all, I wouldn't even call this speculation - Grange just says they 'should consider Vaughn." Secondly, he was good enough to get hired by Poppovich as an assistant, and then good enough to get hired as a coach elsewhere. Let's not act like he's under-qualified to be an assistant in Toronto.

He just had familiarity with Pop because he just played and retired under Pop. Its like if Hayes suddenly retired and became our Assistant Coach. Some people wouldnt mind, but they certainly wont think he was easily qualified.
