Best Potential Defensive Lineups

Post#1 » by Jim Todd Jr. » Mon Jul 6, 2015 6:28 am

I will preface this by saying im not a huge fan of our offseason so far. That being said there are some potential lockdown 5 man units on this roster now. What do you think is our best defensive unit?

Im going with:

Joseph
Ross
Carroll
JJ
Biyombo

Tough players. Guards who can stop the ball, and a couple of bigs who can really block shots.
Chips with the dip baybeeee.

Joseph
Wright

Biyombo

I have Wright at SG because he's 6'5 and Ross is a bad defender.

Joseph/Demar/Carrol/JJ/Biyombo

Not counting on Wright being perfect as a rookie. And Ross gives up on plays defensively, don't know what happened with this chode

Ross as a defender is quite over-credited. He is quite undersized for most defensive matchups, in particular Lebron. Derozan took over that game and performed wonderfully.

I hope you're joking. 3rd worst in the league. One thing I'd like to point out is the fact that the worst in the league contained 2 overrated defenders in Chandler and Faried who Raptors fans still want for some reason.

Wow. I didnt realize that lineup rated that poorly. Doesnt bode well for our starting lineup unless we upgrade at the 4 somehow.

Me neither. I knew they were bad but not that bad. That lineup also gave up 40% shooting from deep and 58% from the field. Just terrible all around. I'm scared for this team if we don't get a starting PF that can defend and score.

Hilarious.

That one game is reaching the level of Bargnani's 13 game all star stretch. Derozan is a better defender than Ross at this point, but they're both below average.

At least when Casey plays 3 PG's at a time, they can at least guard more than their shadow.
