To everyone praising bruno, good job! we need to support our youth and not be pessimistic. Please do not say things like " demar back to earth, patterson sucks, etc" Even though I hate on carroll, I hope he can get it together to be at least be servicable in some situations even if he's not living up to our initial hope of him being our defensive stopper.

Awesome game from Bruno. I'm really happy for the guy. I've been concerned with how he's struggled since summer league, but today he looked like the guy we saw later in the season last year. Right now strength is the most obvious issue, but his effort on defense is definitely there.

I dont care what anyone tells me :) , he is clearly a Small Forward! clearly! if that's the pace is going to play at then I suggest he spends the next summer with DeMar!!

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I think the Raptors initially wanted to try and give him a shot at being a superstar wing but after a couple years realized he doesn't have enough talent for that. Instead they're going to focus on using his obvious tools as a stretch 4. If he can guard PFs and protect the rim then he has a good chance to be a rotation player because offensively he should be able to stretch the floor. His jumper is the most natural looking thing about him.

Bro, did you see that drive and dunk? He can probably play point guard

Trying to figure out "is he a SF or PF" is a fool's errand. The truth is he's neither and both, he's a tweener. Offensively he's better suited playing SF, defensively it would be a match-up thing.

First solid game of Bruno's career. If he can do this for an entire D-League season, then maybe we have a potential rotation player here.

He still looks a little slow for an SF.

He's exactly the type of defender this team needs. A player that has the potential to be a really good in between defender (capable of guarding out on the perimeter and in the post). He's getting a lot quicker defending out on the perimeter and his awareness looks to have improved and he's good at contesting once he gets beat off the dribble with that length. He just needs to strengthen his base so he doesn't get bodied in the post once a team tries to switch a big onto him but I like what I'm seeing from him as a help/rotational defender. That length allows him to cover such a huge amount of space. There's no reason not to be patient with him if he keeps showing signs of improvement. Trust in the process.

I really think that Bruno is physically quicker than the pace he plays. He's shown quickness in spurts. He physically slows the game down to match how he's mentally processing the game. It's like the opposite of JV. With JV, you can see he knows where to go, he's just half a step slow physically. Bruno, on the other hand, can quickly get to places on the court, but is hesitant whether it's the right place, so he doesn't go at 100% speed.

This is what I think too. At times he explodes to the rim for a dunk, other times he looks like Aaron Gray. Even after 3 years of being with us he hasn't caught up to the speed of the game mentally.

In fairness to Bruno in terms of expectations, going from being a stand-out d-league player to a serviceable NBA rotation player is still quite a big jump, and a lot of players haven't made that jump. Even if Bruno has a 20/10/3blk type season in the d-league this year, people shouldn't be surprised or think he's regressed if he's not cracking the rotation next season.

There's always going to be a crop of players who have the raw talent/physical tools to dominate in the nbadl but lack the skill, IQ, or certain physical attributes to be NBA caliber.
