The Official Raptors 905 Discussion Thread

I think Bruno was starting to blow up the last couple games last year . I think he had one or two thirty point games . If he continues to show that he has out grown the D league it does bode well for the Raptors , hopefully he gets a chance and makes good on it .

Hope to see him continue to rebound at a better level the rest of the year. He was a solid rebounder in the second half of the D League season last year, so he should be able to keep it up this year. Also want to see a lot more attacking the rim and trying to dunk on guys whenever he can. When he drives and sort of throws up a shot it's a miss like 70 percent of the time, so I'd prefer he go hard and try for a dunk with the possibility of getting fouled. Other than that, just continue to improve his shooting consistency and increase his knowledge of the game through playing time and watching film. He can worry about the weight room when D League season ends since he won't be playing minutes for the Raptors.

Next game is at the Hershey Center tomorrow morning(11am) against the Bulls. This would be a good time for Bruno to attack the rim at every opportunity, or try to score in the post. Bulls have a terrible frontcourt. Chance for Bruno to try some things out.

Sim is gone. He made progress last year, but not enough. Besides this team is now 3 deep at center, so we would only be grooming him for another NBA team.

Nah, they did this a couple times last year as well. lol. They pick a day and it's when school kids go to a game. It's fun to watch because you can hear all the kids screaming like crazy when the game gets intense. Bruno needs to go off in this one. Bulls have NOBODY in the D League that can stop him attacking the rim.

As long and athletic as he is(he flashes some hops every now and again) his max reach is probably somewhere near 12 feet. He should be attacking the rim every chance he gets. If he elevates, the only guys who can challenge him without fouling are giants and athletic freaks. A lot of D League teams have neither.

Bruno's been awesome defensively, but if he's ever gonna be able to play in the league, he needs to become a better shooter. For a guy who has a naturally soft touch and seemingly great confidence in his shot, he's an awful shooter

Kinda sad that more Mississaugans aren't flocking to the 905. How the Toronto Rock can average 10,000 a game and a league featuring basketball and beer with NCAA stars in it and some legit NBA prospects (not to mention some 905 area locals) can't regularly crack 6000 or so in a suburb where there isn't a ton else to do beyond hanging around Square One and where tickets are reasonably priced is beyond me. If I lived where I used to I'd probably have seasons tickets.

Hopefully it grows. Jerseys should be closer to the actual Raptors jerseys and they should make the closest tickets even less but beyond that it looks to be a solid couple hours out watching ball.
