Kobe doesnt strike me as the "pick up the phone and welcome the new guys" type of dude

how is anyone surprised at this?

Lou took less money to live in LA, which is going to ruin his career bc he wont get the same opportunities with Swaggy on his side, and LA is the perfect place to go broke and spend all your money. Bad investment.

He took less money? what other team offered him a bigger contract?

Didn't we offer him way more?

Lou signed with LA because the Raptors told him to do it. Lou told the Raptors to match Lakers offer but they didn't.

Bold move by the new guys to show up one of the all time Laker greats in the twilight of his career at their introductory press conference. Sure Kobe should have called them = but these guys are all pros - if you get the question in the press conference you just say "No, I haven't heard from him - but looking forward to seeing him when camp starts" or whatever. That was pure amateur hour by all 3 of those guys - start dividing the team at your intro presser.

Kobes always been a terrible teammate and not a good leader. The fact that he's one of the best scorers of all time
it usually gets overlooked by many.

Kobe hasn't had a real season the past two years and it's no secret he's thinking of playing in Europe next season. Everyone knows he's just filling time in LA while he still gets paid like a superstar. Basically following in Steve Nash's footsteps.

that was soooooo awkward.

Why does Kobe need to contact those scrubs though? They missed on big targets, dont start thinking that Kobe will start treating as if they were more than just a flash in the pan.

Kobe isn't a terrible leader or teammate. Anybody who's followed the Lakers know this. Is he a great leader, great teammate? No. Not great. But overall, good. He's just mentally checked out and is clocking his pay day nowadays.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

yeah, i dont understand why anyone didnt say anything? was very awkward? someone couldve just said, "no, we havent gotten a chance to speak with him yet." and that's that... instead now there's some weird tension around this team. wtf were they thinking? were they just waiting for one another to respond or did they just go braindead?

Because they know it's the Lakers & there always has to be drama surrounding the Lakers, otherwise they'd be pretty much irrelevant right now this offseason.

That's disappointing, I feel like he would've been a good fit off the bench :s
