Terrence Ross Question
What's the general consensus about his game, progression, and status on the team amongst Raptor fans?
Does T. Ross still have some "breakout" in him?
Has he hit his ceiling?
Does the addition of Carroll put him in jeopardy?
Is Norman Powell a threat to steal some minutes from him?
Is T. Ross still a important part to the team and its success?
what say you all?

As far as what Ross COULD be - neither Carroll, nor Powell can even get close to that. But will he become that guy? Sadly, most likely not. I am willing to wait one more season though...

1) He still has all the physical gifts (e.g. explosiveness, vertical) that most NBA players can only dream of BUT he is extremely weak mentally (without even mentioning his instagram/twitter posts) and for some reason plays like the opposing team has an infectious disease so he shies away from any chance of contact offensively and defensively. How do you change a player's mentality though?
2) I hope he hasn't, but if he doesn't change his mentality and start slashing/getting to the line then I am afraid so
3) I actually think this could be good for Ross. He can play the SG position coming off the bench and doesn't have to match up against guys that are bigger than him. He might also be given a bigger role and opportunity off the bench to create for himself
4) Don't see Powell as a threat right now... but I think that if Ross plays like he did last year for for the first half of the season then who knows
5) If he could figure it out, then he could take the Raptors to another level BUT I really can't see it happening right now so I would say no he is not important. Especially since we already have a lot of depth at the guard position. He's pretty expendable

He's very athletic but doesn't actually use it. Give Demar T Ross's athleticism and he'd be a superstar.

He's gone to the spurs. The bone spurs. But seriously, he's a heel.

Re: Terrence Ross Question
Terrence Ross started out sick and y'all CANT forget that. His first season he won the damn dunk title and was hyping up Toronto. Then he started drifting away, even though everyone thought he'd get better every season he got worse. He's been less athletic every season for some stupid reason. So right now, if Ross can go back to his roots while coming off the bench, he can basically replace Lou Williams

Ross has natural basketball talent but his mentality to play pro basketball is not there.

Re: Terrence Ross Question
Does T. Ross still have some "breakout" in him?
He does, and always will until his prime ends. Ross' ability to shoot off the dribble is very special that can provide the spacing of two spot up shooters. That alone will keep him around the league, and during the next 5 or so years there's always the chance of him finally getting it and putting that athleticism to use.
Has he hit his ceiling?
No, but he may very well have already hit it depending on if he wants to assert himself as a player more. He's not driven (and this isn't a pun on his lack of willingness to drive to the paint) and seems perfectly content being what he is right now, a guy that plays defense and shoots 3 pointers.
Does the addition of Carroll put him in jeopardy?
It doesn't. Ross' ability to shoot off of screens all over the court makes him versatile in a number of offensive structures and sets. As long as the team he's on is willing to move the ball and run some sets, something that didn't happen with Vasquez and Lou, Ross will always have an easy time immersing himself on any team.
Is Norman Powell a threat to steal some minutes from him?
Yes. I don't want to put too much stock in summer league, but Powell displayed way more ferocity, intensity, and assertiveness in Summer League than I've ever seen from Ross his entire career with us. Powell looks tough mentally unlike Ross, and he has a knack for getting to the rim and has an improving jumper. I have a feeling Casey force fed Ross minutes because he needed to; he needed someone to be a threat out there that wouldn't step on the shoes of our ball dominant guards. Even though it was Summer League, Powell has a way of scoring when his team needs him the most, and that may entice Casey to wanting that over Ross' shooting.
Is T. Ross still a important part to the team and its success?
Yes. I wish the fans realized just how special Ross' ability to shoot all over the court off of screens without the need to spot up is. Kyle Korver has an insanely high impact on the Hawks' offense because he's like the best player ever at this despite his low PPG. The only thing stopping Ross from reaching his potential is himself.

Hopefully he learns a thing or two from Powell about driving to the basket.
I like you.
