Agreed. That was a fun team to watch and proud to be a fan of. Was hoping they would build on that mindset the following season but injuries and drama happened. The team went away from what made them successful but were still winning games based on the wrong approach.

This season, it seems they're trying to find their way back from what they were in 13-14.

I Think chemistry and hard work are far tougher to maintain and duplicate season to season than talent. At the end of the day, talent is a constant which is why the NBA teams with the best players eventually rise to the top and compete for championships. And come playoffs every team is generally playing hard so those teams that overachieved through hard work during the season lose that advantage.

Agreed man I mean when you look at our roster you have two guys that can create their shots in Lowry and DeMar plus a gritty defender in Carroll and a FIBA MVP in Scola who btw is great in his own right then when you add Valanciunas or Biyombo to the mix both of these guys can do the dirty work and get rebounds for when Lowry and DeRozan miss and then quickly pass it back to Scola who confuses opponents with his porn movie veteran look but then guess what he scores right in your face anyway I think bringing Ross off the bench along with Cory Joseph is a great idea because Joseph doesn't demand the ball very much so that Ross can DOMINATE and by dominate I mean score like 5 points per game on .400 shooting because expecting anything more from him really puts him in a stressful situation and he begins throwing tantrums on Tumblr and starts arguing with the fans honestly the only thing wrong with this team is Patman I'm guessing he needs a Robin or a PatGirl

Only with Raptors fans do close losses and leading a game at the half show up on the stat sheets. :nonono: :nonono:

Well losing close games does contribute to a better point differential and it's starting to become common knowledge that the best teams have the largest point differentials.

Good team, not great. Same as previous few years. Maybe the weaknesses are a little different but the talent level that drives the team the same.

Extremely high bump potential with this thread. I expect to see it pop up both after big wins and humiliating loses. The double meaning of the thread title only strengthens its versatility.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Overrating the Raptors if you think we belong in the elite teams in the league.._We scored 23 or something in 2 12 min qters against the clips._.This Offence wont do us any good in the playoffs.

Honestly we're 6th in the conference so some of you need to chill a bit. Maybe look in the mirror or something.

Right, because looking at 1 quarter of 1 game is a good indication of something.

We're middle of the pack (15th) in PPG, and top 5 in OPPG. I'll take that over our "great offense" last year any day,

Of course this is a good team, and better then the record indicates. It's been a rough schedule. The problem is, the east has gotten stronger. Cavs/ATL/Raps/Bulls no longer have a stranglehold on everybody out here. It feels like anybody can beat anybody.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Well come playoff time when DD is playing iso, gets shut down , Lowry jacking up 3s and we have no one else involved._._ you will see how easy it will be for other teams to stop us.._.The offence needs to change._.Me bringing up 2 quaters of horrible play is valuabe cause that wont cut it againt elite teams

Yet we can be better. The offence just needs to change. I really want to see what this team can do with a legit coach who has a an actual offensive scheme.
