That was pretty cool. Better to do this than going to clubs. JV should create a rap song while injured.

Very creative but I don't see how the NBA or Cavs PR teams would have been ok with this. Yes it is a video game they are trying to depict. But how is depicting car jackings, random shootings and beat downs on drug deals even in a satirical way something that either organization would want to be associated with?
I don't see how he doesn't get fined for this.

I'm shocked hes allowed to do this. NBA is trying to steer away from gun and gang violence. I thought it was awesome though. I like Shump as a player especially since he added a jump shot.

Don't really get the argument. If he was acting a role in a movie would people bring up this type of argument.
That's essentially what he's doing in this video.

Yes if the movie glorified gun and gang violence and made his character the hero as GTA and this video does.
If he played a role as a bad guy doing those things in a movie about how he was brought to justice, maybe not so much.
The NBA and the Cavs organization are businesses making money by selling advertising and tickets primarily to corporations. Those organizations and their sponsors will not think this video is 'cool'. There is probably explicit language in Iman's contract that states he can get fined for something like this.
I enjoyed the video and felt it was well done, entertaining and a good piece of art. If Iman were not an NBA player it would just be another video in a long line of those that glorify gun and gang violence. But he is under contract with an NBA franchise which has behaviour guidelines for how its players act off the court and routinely fine or punish them in some other way when they don't follow those guidelines.

Re: OT: Shump...goood timmmmmmmmes
Best thing the NBA could do is nothing. Since he set it in terms of a video game, it becomes a depiction of a depiction of gang violence and therefore it's even harder not to see it as a commentary rather than glorification. So...no fine would hold up anyway in my opinion and they'd alienate the players for nothing. Not that I think he should be fined anyway but I'm just saying they shouldn't bother anyway.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

They love it and will be collecting royalties from any money Iman makes as well as whatever he paid to use their trademark. If he did not set all this up beforehand, Iman will definitely be hearing from their lawyers.

lol perhaps the general public should stop putting athletes on make believe pedestals? They aren't role models... they're athletes, with jobs, just like you and me.
It was a really good video..... anyone who has an issue with it should probably stop watching TV shows/movies, listening to music, probably even stepping out of their front door.
A lot worse things happen in the world than someone expressing themselves creatively.
Not to single you out, I understand you're just speculating on what could happen in todays ultra sensitive world.

This is pretty ill to be honest. Would listen again.
Also, agree with above poster who said it is a depiction of a depiction of violence, satirized through the lends of video game culture. Who should be able to escape any negative consequences.

This is definitely the best music I've heard from an NBA player. Not exactly the biggest hurdle to clear, but I thought it was good.

Decent, but yes NBA will hate that and he might even get fined.
