OT: There's A Chance Knicks Could Shutdown Melo

Post#1 » by Risk101 » Mon Feb 8, 2016 3:55 pm

I start off by saying hopefully Melo is still healthy enough to play ball at a high level.

That being said we are looking at maybe a high draft pick.

I'm more worried about DEN. They are only 5 games out and the West stinks this year.

Yeah, but we're getting Denver's pick either way. As well as New York played this year Denver is not that far behind, and with injuries.

Doesnt help that the Raptors lost to both the Knicks and nuggets :(

Don't worry man, that's just the universe's way of lining up the stars for the Raptors top-10 pick.

its almost a guarantee melo gets shut down soon after all star break, (unless nyk do the unthinkable and go 8-2 or something)
he has already missed games due to the knee he had surgery on, and on the game he has played he had shot horrendously.

Maybe the MRI's were at the request of the team Melo is about to be traded to.

Melo is on his last legs. Acquire him at your own risk is what I would say to anyone who wanted to trade for him. The King of empty stats has no great future left. He should have been moved before now. The last two years should have been intense rebuilding years in NY so that only one or two more would have been needed after that. They are staring at a huge void now. The hype with KP reminds me of Anthony Davis and how even a great player can fail to live up to expectations when put in a bad situation.

Great news for our draft pick. Now it has a chance to have enough value to land us Cousins!

So at worst we get the 10th pick in this draft. For Bargnani...yes.

Denver gets the higher of the 2 picks, we get the other one.

For example, if NY pick is 10th and Denver pick is 8th, we get the 10th pick.
If NY pick is 6th and Denver pick is 9th, we get the 9th pick.

I thought we get the higher of the pick

Hopefully Denver trades someone away for picks and makes their team a bit worse. They need to go on 5-8 game losing streak.

Nope, it's Denver who has the option to swap. This is still stemming from the Carmelo trade.

Denver still could tank the remainder.

They would benefit from two chances at first over all.

They still need talent, I'm not sure they try and make a push vs. shut it down.
