It really is. I mean Vasquez was a UFA who was like our 9th most valuable player last year, getting a 1st round pick for him makes no sense. Then the audacity for Masai to get them to include a 2nd too... which only won us a first round series

I liked Vasquez better than most, but this might be the most lopsided trade we've ever made, and I didn't forget we got a first rounder for Bargnani.

A lot of people here are lamenting the idea of resigning DeRozan for the max, but it's moves like these that give me hope that Masai can flip him around for something extremely valuable.

Right; if Masai can get Powell+Clips 2017 1st round pick for Vasquez I really wonder what he'll get for a Level like Demar

See:
Anthony, Carmelo traded to the New York Knickerbockers.

Yeah, the Nuggets got a lot of picks and prospects. Some decent players including Galo, but nothing special.

Pre-draft, I said he could be similar to another former UCLA 2nd rounder career roleplayer Luc Umbamute (however its spelled)
Defense FIRST, versitle players.

I'm now upgrading that to a more athletic Bruce Bowen.
Mean defense is his calling.

he can guard several positions, and doesn't demand the ball on offense.
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Point guard and center are the two most difficult positions to truly learn to play well even for people who've played them their whole life.

The only way Powell could be a 1 would be in a highly structured system like the Triangle (like a Derek Fisher or Ron Harper)

Ball handeling wise I don't think Powell would ever be a traditional PG.
Could he play 'PG' on defense, sure. And if you had a Lebron type PF (a non tradional PG) you could get away with it.

How can you guess a players ceiling when he keeps raising the roof?

theres nothing about norman i will ever hate other than the usual game to game miscues. as far as his overall skillset and demeanour, unless all of a sudden next year theyre like, "NORMAN IS THE NEW FRANCHISE" and start making him jack up shot after shot despite bricking all of them, i dont see how anyone should hate the production hes giving us.

This is definitely the best comparison for a current player IMO.

He's already a better player on offense than Bowen ever was, IMHO.

i dunno man. i think that powell is turning heads and its great but its also far fetched to really see room for THAT more much improvement. he's 23 already and isn't growing 3 inches in his second year a la giannis antetemkoumpo. its still pretty awesome to see a potential 15 pt. game scorer off the bench w/ defensive chops. that's already a top 10 pick value right there.

6'11 wingspan and close to 8'7 standing reach, he's a prototypical modern day NBA SG/SF.

If he can become a poor man's Jimmy Butler we have ourselves one hell of a player. Couldn't be happier about what we're getting from Norman. Amazing player with a demeanour well beyond his years.
