I highly doubt it. Considering how MU has drafted since being in Toronto my expectations are low. I am just hoping he can actually contribute to the team in some way unlike Cabloco, Wright, Daniels ect.

He said he only played for 5 years. He probably will get a lot better, but it will take time if he can stay healthy.

Intriguing pick.

Shouldn't this thread involve names like Faried, Millsap or any other unheralded senior that rebounds and hustles like mad and is an after thought during the draft as everyone touts and chases potential over NBA ready ready players with translatable skills and stats?

Pascal Siakam's ceiling is this:

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

I don't see a TT in there but Siakam looks like he's got a lot to offer.

Hard to tell until you see him up against nba players but there's a lot to like about this kid.
Pascal to the future.

Pretty common for late picks, that said. Only Bruno is a Project
Wright and Siakam are Senior plyers who are more ready that Bruno.

Siakam, Bruno and Poeltl will all be battling for backup minutes at the 4 spot. Siakam is the hustle 4, Bruno is a stretch 4(whether we admit it or not) and Poeltl is the center who will have to get comfortable playing the 4(poor man's Timmy D).

I think Siakam's ceiling is closer to Quincy Acy than Tristan Thompson.

I keep seeing people here say that Siakam was a senior. He wasn't. He was a sophomore. Yes, he's 22 years old, but he only played two years at New Mexico St.

Its just racist ageism.

his stats are unreal
he is great in the open floor
he gets blocks
he rebounds
he can hit the long 2
his handles are better than biz
there really isnt much to not like other than his early injury in SL

"I think I just want people to know that they have a guy that's gonna give everything he has for this team," said Siakam. "I'm going to play hard, and I'm going to hustle and play every possession like it was my last. So, that's the way I approach the game, and with the way the fans are, I know there's great fans, i just hope I can be the favourite."

"Just being the hustle guy, and just being a good teammate, and being a good player overall."

If MU was not trying to outsmart the draft he could have just taken Hood and Portis. He has been straight up trash in terms of drafting which is frustrating because he is great at trading for picks.

All of those guys will only be playing spot minutes. Sully will take up the majority of the back-up minutes at both big man spots, with DeMarre playing some small-ball 4.

Hood? Alright, but there were only like 2 guys picked after Bruno that have done anything so far. Portis sux

He redshirted a year so it was his 3rd or 4th year but he did have 2 seasons of Eligbility left.

Even more Impressive

I will give you Portis in a way but I would swap Wright for him without hesitation. When I saw Hood there at 20 I was pretty excited because it was a lottery talent at 20. **** Bruno.

I dunno why. Portis would be buried on the bench too, behind Val/Ppat/Sull/Poeltl/Carroll (for his short min at the 4). It's not like he'd be getting big minutes here
