He was productive for the team from October but got his minutes ripped from him for inexplicable reasons as the season waned. Do March games not matter? Or how about playoff games?

Sure they matter. My point has never been that JJ played a ton down the stretch or in the playoffs. It's that he got plenty of opportunity overall, during that season.

And my point was that JJ did play well here in his first season back and that his performance wasn't (or shouldn't have been) the reason Casey took his minutes away as the season progressed.

Well I'm glad we got that all sorted out

Huh? He got minutes at the start, did well, then got those minutes taken away. I didn't think that was a "fair shake". Oh well, moving on.. lol

I hate to bring this guy up but I'm not sure which is the bigger bust; Carroll or Hedo. Hedo totally tanked when he arrived in Toronto and its clear that he was juiced during the Magic's deep playoff runs but he did play 74 games and he averaged 11/5/4 on 41% shooting and 37% 3 point shooting. You can point to his defensive deficiencies but he's was a much better facilitator and ball distributor. Compare that to Carroll's run so far in Toronto: he has played in 86 (out of 150) and averaging 10/4/1 on 40% shooting and 35% shooting from beyond the arc. They are just as inefficient on the offensive end in terms of putting the ball in the basket, but I think Hedo would fit much better on this team in terms of facilitating the ball and directing traffic on the offensive end. Pair him up with PJ Tucker and you have a decent offence-defence platoon. What do you guys think?

Carroll has been an issue ever since the day he signed on the dotted line

I get they needed a real 3 (T Ross was not that), but $60 million for DC was never defensible.

Carroll shooting 27.3% on open 3's in the playoffs. Shot 33% in the RS and and 35% on wide open 3's in the RS

Still our best defender, really good on pick and rolls.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I had people in this very thread telling me Carroll had a value contract compared to what Wes Math got... as if Wes isn't the better player

His numbers at the time were very underwhelming. Even if it was a compromise deal, I can't imagine this is what Masai envisioned.

Carroll is not the issue. Our offence is the issue. We should be looking to get 3 pt shots. DC is the only guy other than Lowry who could possibly get us 4 threes in a game. We need 3s. Scored more FGs than they did yet lost by almost 30.

good teams find replacement level players like Carroll before they need to get paid. Bad teams like ours pay for them after a career year.

He could maybe get 4 a game if he had 16 attempts

How can someone watch the game and come up with this conclusion? It's baffling. The guy bricks wide open 3s. He is A problem (not the only one but a big one)

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks
