I think his speed/size ratio is fine. Not elite but above average. But he doesn't have the instincts, anticipation and separation skills that make players seem faster than they are.

That right there is also the problem on the defensive side. He may have the length and foot speed to be a stretch 4, but his instinct and anticipation is non-existent. You cannot be a good defensive player if you cannot read the game at all.

His speed when going in one direction is fine. The problem is changing direction, switching assignments, scrambling when breakdowns happen etc. People chalk those moments up to anticipation/Ball IQ, but his gangly limbs work against him at those times too. You can see his feet are sloppy when changing directions.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Watching the game I just realized that he played the 3, since we started Sullinger at the 4 and Tavare at the 5. I think you guys are really underrating his IQ acumen. No his IQ is not great, but he understands the basics of defense. He helps the helper, he closes out well (I love that he jumps off of two feet too, more controlled and less likely to barrel into the shooter), he's a solid shotblocker, and he does a decent job of guarding the perimeter.

Last year at this time, yeah you can say his instincts were terrible. This season that's not true anymore.

Jared couldn't jump off one foot now if he tried. It's probably how he weakened his left foot in the first place, before it ultimately broke- and that was 40 pounds ago.

He should just work on shooting 3s and his defense. If he can be Channing Frye that would be sufficient.

If Bruno could become Channing Frye like based on where he's at now that would be a completely unexpected Grand Slam.

If he could be James Posey, that would be enough.

I'll always contend that Bruno would show us something if he was thrown to the wolves like Siakam. If anything in the 905 and garbage time he's asked to do too much, handling the ball and whatnot. His role in the league will just be to play D and spread the floor, and I think he already has a lot of those skills.

What happens when we shed Carroll's contract, or he expires but we're still in the luxury tax no matter what? We can't go out and sign another big wing. We probably don't want to roll out Powell/Ross as SFs all year. Unless in the draft with our low 20s picks, we get a SF with rate of development that immediately takes them past year 4 Bruno.

Possibly. Bruno just doesn't seem to have a feel for the game. Even after several years of the franchise trying to develop him :noway:

jv vs sully in a 400 metre dash would be some good entertainment.

bruno has played decent this season, this game he played just as good as sully who is a "nba" player.

You could be right. He flew under my radar.

If I posted the following stats for an NBA player. 9/5/1 with a TS% of 47.6 and a PER of 12.7, you would say that's a bad NBA player.

Of course these are Bruno's third year d league stats.

Satnam Singh - 1.9/1.4 shooting 33%. Sure he plays low minutes but I've never seen a worse player. Bruno has at least some skills. Singh is just a body with nothing else to offer.

I actually scouted satnam sing (j/k i watched some youtube vids about him) and legit questioned whether he was good enough to earn dleague minutes.
